Blasting the Ruins : Discussion

... well now isn't that an interesting card.

I'm sure it has it's place in some decks.

I would say if we ever started seeing this on a regular basis, then semi-limit it. The fact that it is a trap card, and that even in speedy decks it will take a little while to put thirty cards in you grave, should leave it fine at two.

Also, at two it is only doing 6000 damage. And even then, there are more then enough ways to counter this.

Also, it is anti-mill. Allowing it uses outside of OTKs.

*Sigh* OPs and their irony.

It's obvious that it should be at three, the deck you would build to use it quickly would most likely dump it, and it's too slow that it wouldn't be effective in any other deck. The amount of cards you use to set this up could all be converted into various burn cards that would come close to the actual damage inflicted, be equal to it, or possibly surpass it. It's not worth the effort and you're better off by using other burn methods.

3000 is not an OTK. It is an OTK if you have 3, but that means it will require over 4 cards to do the OTK. If anything, it's a sizable amount of burn done after a large period of time to the point that it's completely useless. And only serving a purpose in a bad OTK is barely reason to ban something anyways…Bad topic.

Blah. It can only be used for OTK's. Ban it.

Than we minus will ban Gift Card.

I'd rather ban Bad Reaction' date=' which can cause infinite loops.

[/quote']

The only infinite loops it creates are fun ones that involve +3 cards and will never be used.

Bad reaction/Reficule + PMD/Rainbow Life + Any effect damage = infinite loop.

Wait, How does that cause an infinite loop?

I activate Rain of Mercy! Simochi converts that to damage' date=' you take 1000!

No, Prime Material Dragon makes me gain 1000!

Simochi makes you lose 1000!

Prime changes that to healing!

Simochi changes it to burn!

etc.

[/quote']

By offical ruling, I dont think your alloud to do that/I think you just send all the cards to the graveayrd.

Except you're wrong.

Whichever card was on the field first (Reficule/Simochi or Prime Material Dragon/Rainbow Life) is the one that resolves.

Blasting the Ruins is fine where it is. It has no need to be banned. Going around banning every single OTK is almost as ridiculous as Polaris' Montage Dragon theory.

Actually, it seems that the ruling is thus:

* If "Dian Keto the Cure Master" is activated while both "Prime Material Dragon" and "Bad Reaction to Simochi" are on the field, "Bad Reaction to Simochi" turns the effect into an effect which inflicts damage, but then "Prime Material Dragon" turns the effect into an effect which recovers Life Points. "Dian Keto the Cure Master" will recover 1000 LP.[2]

* If "Ookazi" is activated while both "Prime Material Dragon" and "Bad Reaction to Simochi" are on the field, "Prime Material Dragon" turns the effect into an effect which recovers Life Points, but then "Bad Reaction to Simochi" turns the effect into an effect which deals damage. "Ookazi" will deal 800 damage.[2]

Lolwiki of course, but Konami backs it up.
