OnSlaUghT
If you're actually into Pokemon, HGSS was a really fun nostalgic feeling to the GSC ages. The games also had a ton of legends if you are into RNGing, and if you don't have Platinum, you get to (ab)use the breeding mechanics that aren't in DP. while HGSS was good, I prefer Platinum
Tentacruel
+4 Speed and +6 Attack? So far it's really cool, and my team has been doing really well. Side from a match where my opponent had deoxys-s and skymin I've won all my matches. Granted I'm making a lot of misplays but I'm learning. So far Rotom-W is among my fav new pokemon. It's so good.

It may have gone though major changes, but it's not new... In any case, I've found that the only things that easily take me down are Pokemon that double their Speed in some random weather or that new Ground/Flying legend. Seems difficult to get all the bases covered this time around.

Granted I haven't played a sandstorm team, but I've been doing well against Sun and Rain. I've seen the Ground/Flying guy once so far, and my Rotom took care of him thanks to Wisp. Balloon Doryuzu with Swords Dance while Sand Stream is active is a complete pain to take out. >___< But yeah, Will-o-Wisp does handle the Ground/Flying legend nicely. Personally, I have to leave that thing to Shaymin and hope it doesn't die before firing off HP Ice.

Granted the one time I ran into Doryuzu I don't even remember him doing much damage. Problem with that is Randorosu is faster and can just U-Turn out so it can avoid the HP while you take a fair amount of damage and face his Shaymin check. Nobody I've seen is adequately prepared for regular Shaymin. Most people simply bring in Heatran to be outsped and OHKO'd with Earth Power. Haven't seen much of U-Turn either, not much point this gen.

The movesets I've seen on Smogon all have U-Turn down as recommendation for all his movesets. Just checked my ranking, I'm 65 out of over 1700 on the smogon server. :D Just got swept by a Ulgamoth. If the idiot using it didn't go LOL NOOB at the end it wouldn't have bugged me so much. Also my rank has fallen a lot. Point wise it's still high (over 1100) but I'm not only in the top 200, but I was high at one point.
Dark
Does Smogon have any plans to base tiering off of Pokemon Online battles, or is tiering strictly a PokeLab thing?

I mean they do have their own server on PO.
Dark
Rats! I never wanted to download Pokemon Online, but since they would probably decide tiering partly on the results of PO battles, I kind of want to now. D:

I love the format it has and playing with the 5th gen pokemon is fun. And I'm sill learning, and still making loads of misplays. Dark
Excuse me? I'd love to know why Deoxys-A, Deoxys, and Darkrai are not on that list. I understand it's a prelim list, but those Pokemon have shown themselves as Uber since the third generation (fourth for Darkrai), and I feel it's bullshit that they need to be tested again for fifth gen. Also, where is the blue blob of doom? Are they trying to let the best Shadow Tag Pokemon into OU to wreak havoc? Again, I understand it is a prelim list, but I'd rather have that list be more extensive and then take out more Pokemon as needed, as opposed to adding Pokemon back in. Chomp is fine (in fact I dropped him from my team) and so is Mence. But seeing people with Skymin, A, or Latios (even with out it's special item) really makes me face deck. This the smogon thread on the subject if you want to check it out.http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82166 And some other notes, sleep counter resets when you switch and Encore got a small nerf since it now only works for 3 turns. Also for those looking to join the 5th gen party a thread to help you start.http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81996
burnpsy
Has anyone else here had fun playing around with weird movesets and such? My Balloon Metagross and Defensive Ulgamoth seem to seriously catch people off guard, especially when they see Ulgamoth wall their Water-type special sweepers in the Rain. My Balloon Metagross and Defensive Ulgamoth seem to seriously catch people off guard, especially when they see Ulgamoth wall their Water-type special sweepers in the Rain. Not really. ATM I still don't know enough about the meta to make things up as I go. I do make some changes to move sets for my own means, but that's about it. How bulky is that Ulgamoth? I mean damn, you must have put a lot of evs into his hp and defense. Granted your dance should help. So far I've found I love Nattorei, Rotom-W, Roobushin, and Starmie with them being my main pokemon. The dragon slot has been giving me problem since I keep changing it. So far I've gone from chomp, to the hydra, and now I'm playing around with @s. I wanted a good wisher and when I saw her I knew I had my mon. As for Shandera some times he's good, other times not so much. I kind of want to drop him, but idk what. Also I've made another team for my friend. I'll post it later if people want to see what I came up with.
Dark
Yeah, how is that Dark/Dragon pseudo running, by the way? I'm fairly sure his Base Speed screws you over too often for you to handle. D:

Don't get me wrong, if I had a better idea on how to use him, I'm sure he is good, but atm I he just doesn't seem to work on my team. For those that want to know my name, it's .Blaze., same one I used on shoddy.
