Paradise Lost [Gate of Pendulums] (We're really close)

Pendulum Scale = 2


Pendulum Effect


 


Once per turn: You can banish 1 Tuner monster from your Graveyard, then declare 1 card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap); excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is the declared card type, add it to your hand. Otherwise, banish it face-down.


 


Monster Effect


If you control a face-up Level 6 or higher Tuner monster: You can Special Summon this card from your Extra Deck. But it cannot be used as a Synchro or Xyz Material this turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 of your banished cards; add it to your hand. You must control an "Edenwatch" monster to activate and resolve this effect. You can only use each effect of "Edenguard of Future Lost" once per turn.

Pendulum Scale = 9


Pendulum Effect


While this card is in your Pendulum Zone, your opponent cannot check cards in your Graveyard. Once per turn: Discard 1 card, then your opponent calls the type (Monster, Spell, or Trap); of the first card found at the bottom of your Graveyard. If he/she calls it right, the card is banished. If he/she calls it wrong, add 1 card from your Graveyard to your hand. Once per turn, if you have a "Edenguard" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can make this card's Pendulum Scale become 9 until the end of this turn, also you can only Pendulum Summon Tuner monsters for the rest of this turn (even if this card leaves the field).


 


Monster Effect


 


If you control a face-up Level 6 or higher Tuner monster: You can Special Summon this card from your Extra Deck. But it cannot be used as a Synchro or Xyz Material this turn. Once per turn: You can return all removed from play monsters to their owners' Graveyards, and if you do all monsters you oppoent controls loses 500 ATK for each monster returned to your opponents Graveyard by this effect. You can only use each effect of "Edenwatch of Past Forgotten" once per turn.


 


Had a lot of fun creating these cards, I think the pendulum effects of both cards suit their name. As of how useful it can be I don't know. So...

I really like these cards! You've got some interesting ideas and some really neat flavors. Only issue is that there's a couple balance problems.

 

First, for Edenguard, I would put a hard OPT on his recycle effect, just because with the kind of support Pendulums have that resummoning and reusing that effect in a single turn actually is not that difficult.

 

and then Edenwatch; that stat-boosting effect opens up a slew of big OTK's. While this does require some dedicated deck-building, it is without a doubt that there are plenty of decks out there that are able to very quickly and efficiently fill their banished pile.

 

I mean, besides that, these are some great ideas. The cards themselves look very slick; just be aware that banished cards can be a tricky territory to tread upon.

Thank you for commenting. I updated both of them. Gave both monster effect once per turn. Which was meant to be there, but I forgot in rush. Can you tell me your thoughts on these Pendulums being Tuner? (It's connected to "Paradise Lost" Archtype I've been working on) Anyway thanks again for comment, feels good when work is appreciated :)

Second card is actually broken, if you think about it. First of all, it's a generic Scale 9 that goes to Scale 7, which is still an high enough Scale to Summon most of the monsters that can OTK, it's searchable and a Tuner to boot. Not to mention that the Pendulum effect translates into "add the bottom card of your Graveyard to your hand", pretty muich, given that there is no way your opponent is going to remember the order of your Graveyard.

Edenwatch of Past Forgotten - I think pendulum scale 7 should not be the problem, but still can't give up 9 (Archtype needs it) so gave it some kind of limits. The pendulum effect now has cost - discard 1 card - and I mean even if your opponent doesn't remember the order of your Graveyard, its still the chance of 1/3 that you discarded the card for nothing. (And there is always lucky guess). I also changed the monster effect instead of ATK boost now it reduces the ATK of the opponents monsters. It's less viable on field now. I'm still thinking of the way to make it less important as tuner pendulum. Might give some restriction on that.. (Reduce level or something like that) If anybody has suggestions feel free to comment :)
