Element Colossus: flood out the opponent with their own Attributes [WRITTEN, AGM]

Hello, fine peoples!

 

I... don't have much of an intro for this.  It was a really basic prompt, but one that seemed like it would be pretty cool to work with.

 

Archetype of Rock-Type monsters with different Attributes. Each one inhibits other monsters of the same Attribute in one form or another. Their Fusion monster inhibits monsters your opponent controls whose Attribute is the same as the Attribute of the Fusion Materials. Their Spell/Trap Cards all have Attribute manipulation, but it's not the meat of their effect(s).
 
I cannot say that the cards ended up being overly interesting, but it was fun trying to come up with different effects for each of them.

Element Colossus Tiberius

FIRE ***

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  When this monster is Normal or Special Summoned: destroy all monsters on the field with the same Attribute as this card to the Deck.  Once per turn: you can discard 1 FIRE monster; add 1 monster from your Deck to your hand with the same type as the discarded monster, but a different Attribute and a lower level.

Element Colossus Octavian

FIRE ****

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If your opponent controls a FIRE monster: you can Special Summon this card from your hand.  Neither player can activate the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If this card is the only monster you control, you can destroy it; draw 1 card, and if the card is a monster with the same Attribute as 1 or more of your opponent's monsters, you can Special Summon it.

WATER *

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If all monsters you control are different Attributes OR if all monsters on the field are the same Attribute (min. 2): you can Special Summon this card from your hand.  Monsters with the same Attribute as this card cannot be tributed or change their battle position.  Once per turn: If there are 4 or more monsters on the field with the same Attribute as this card: you can target 1 monster in the Graveyard with a different Attribute than those monsters; banish that target, then Special Summon it during the End Phase of the next turn.

WATER *****

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If this monster is Tribute Summoned: send all monsters on the field with the same Attribute as this card to the Graveyard.  Once per turn, when an "Element Colossus" monster effect activates, you can either: Set 1 banished "Element Colossus" Spell/Trap, OR send 1 "Element Colossus" Spell/Trap from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Element Colossus Atticus

WIND **

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  Monsters with the same Attribute as this card cannot attack or change their battle position.  Once per turn: if a monster's Attribute is changed, you can target 1 face-up card on the field; return that target to the hand.  If the target is a monster with the same Attribute as this card: you can banish it instead.

Element Colossus Justus

WIND ***

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If this card is added to your hand by a card effect: you can Special Summon it in face-up attack position or face-down defense position.  You can only Special Summon "Element Colossus Justus" once per turn this way.  If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, return all monsters on the field with the same Attribute as this card to the Deck.  If this card is destroyed by an opponent's card (by battle or by card effect): you can discard 1 card; add 1 "Element Colossus" Spell/Trap to your hand.

Element Colossus Julius

EARTH 8*

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  You can Special Summon this card from your hand by tributing all monsters on the field with the same Attribute as this card (min. 2).  Monsters with the same Attribute as this card cannot be used as Material for the Summon of an Extra Deck monster.  Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: you can tribute 2 monsters and declare 1 Attribute; all monsters on the field become that Attribute until the End Phase.  If this monster is tributed: you take no battle damage until the End Phase.

EARTH *

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand.  Once per turn (Quick Effect): you can flip all monsters your opponent controls with the same Attribute as this card into face-down defense position.  Your opponent cannot change their battle position until the end of their next turn.  If this card attacks a Set monster: you can banish that monster at the start of damage calculation.  You can tribute this card; Shuffle 3 banished "Element Colossus" cards into your deck, and if you do, draw 1 card.

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If your opponent controls at least 2 more monsters than you: you can Special Summon this card from your hand.  Neither player can add cards from their Deck to their hand whose Attribute is the same as the original Attribute of a monster(s) they control.  During either player's turn: you can banish this card from the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Element Colossus" from your Graveyard.

Element Colossus Gaius

DARK ****

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  You can reduce the ATK and DEF of 1 monster you control to 0 to Special Summon this card from your hand, but if you do, you cannot Special Summon monsters except Rock monsters for the rest of the turn.  Monsters with the same Attribute as this card lose 500 ATK and DEF.  If this card destroys a monster by battle: you can Special Summon 1 level 3 or lower "Element Colossus" monster from your Deck, but its Attribute becomes DARK.

Element Colossus Claudia

LIGHT 6*

Rock/Effect

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  If your opponent controls 2 or more monsters with the same Attribute: you can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, declare 2 Attributes.  All monsters with the first declared Attribute become the second declared Attribute.  If a monster with the same Attribute as this card activates its effect: destroy it after its effect resolves.  During your Standby Phase: you can tribute 1 monster you control; add this card from your Graveyard to your hand.

Element Colossus Titus

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  When this card is Normal Summoned: you can target 1 monster your opponent controls with an Attribute, then you can declare an Attribute; add 1 "Element Colossus" monster from your Deck to your hand with the same Attribute as the target, and if you do, change that target's Attribute to the declared Attribute.  Monsters in your opponent's hand or Graveyard with the same Attribute as this card cannot activate their effects.  If this card is tributed: you can Special Summon up to 2 "Element Colossus" monsters from your hand, and if you do, you can change their Attributes.

I wanted each Attribute to have 2 monsters in their arsenal.  This, unfortunately, makes the set huge, but on the plus side it does generously give the archetype a bit of leeway to work with.

Elemental Colossus Caesar

EARTH 9*

Rock/Effect

"Element Colossus Julius" + 1 or more Rock monsters with different Attributes

Unaffected by the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as this card.  This card's Attributes becomes the same as the Attributes of its fusion materials.  Once while this card is face-up on the field (Quick Effect): you can negate the effects of all monsters your opponent controls with the same Attribute as this card.  If this card is in the Graveyard: you can tribute any number of "Element Colossus" monsters you control; Special Summon this monster, and if you do, it gains the Attributes of all the "Element Colossus" monsters tributed.  Also, banish it when it leaves the field.

I mean, yeah, this was kinda the obvious direction for a boss this archetype was heading towards.

Element Colossus Origin

Normal Spell

Target 1 monster your opponent controls; Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Element Colossus" from your Deck with the same Attribute as that target, but destroy it during the End Phase of the next turn.  You can only activate 1 "Element Colossus Origin" per turn.

 

Element Colossus Terrashifting

Trap

Target 1 monster on the field; all "Element Colossus" monsters on the field gain that target's Attributes.  Also, until the End Phase monsters with that Attribute cannot be destroyed by battle.  You can banish this card from your Graveyard (except the turn it was sent there) and target 1

 

Element Colossus Ensnarement

Trap

Change all monsters your opponent controls with an Attribute that is the same as an "Element Colossus" monster(s) you control to defense position.  Also, until the End Phase, the effects of monsters in defense position are negated.  During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: you can banish this card from your Graveyard and target 1 monster on the field; change that target's Attribute.

 

Element Colossus Fragmentation

Spell

Tribute 1 "Element Colossus" monster; Special Summon 2 monsters with different Attributes from your hand or Graveyard whose total levels are less than or equal the the level of the tributed monster.  During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card and 1 "Elemental Colossus" monster from your Graveyard; add 1 "Element Colossus" from your Graveyard to your hand.

 

Element Colossus Spirit Reflection

Trap

Target 1 monster you control; all monsters your opponent controls with a lower Level/Rank then that target's Level/Rank become the same Attribute as that target.  If that target battles a monster with the same Attribute: destroy the monster it is battling at the start of damage calculation.

 

Element Colossus Gem Heart

Spell

Tribute 1 "Element Colossus" monster; draw 2 cards.  During your Main Phase: you can banish this card; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion monster using "Element Colossus" monsters you control.

 

Element Colossus' Palette

Continuous Trap

Once per turn: you can target 1 monster on the field and declare 1 Attribute; that target becomes that Attribute.  If you control 5 or more different Attributes on your side of the field: you can send this card to the Graveyard; your opponent must send all cards they control to the Graveyard.

 

 

I'll be honest, the last 2 Element Colossi and all the spell/trap support were made today with the entire rest of the monster lineup made on another day.  With that said, I am not entirely sure I really gauged how they actually play off each other.  That said, the Spell/Traps are pretty all around useful for any deck type, so I cannot imagine that the Element Colossus monsters would just not want them.  *shrug*

 

 

So yeah.  Lots of words for an archetype that doesn't actively do too much in and of themselves.  Either way, I had fun making this.  As always, CnC much appreciated, though not required.
