I wish it was a Normal Spell Card.

 

.......How would that make it better?

Diamond Dude counts.

 

Grand Convergence isn't used because good Macro Decks run 3 D-Fissure and 2 Macro, as D-Fissure's the faster of the two, and with 2 copies of Macro, the chances of this being used successfully and effectively are too low to be run over another useful card you could be running.

Obviously decks running grand convergence would run three macro.

 

The Macro Deck in question would run into speed and consistency issues.

It still takes longer to get Macro into play than it is D-Fissure, and you'd have 6 copies of Continuous RFPers, wouldn't want to get them together, AND there's the worry of this being drawn at the wrong time on top of that. Too much trouble to run this, Macro already has no trouble filling up the Deck between being forced to run 3 D-Fissures, 2 Macros, 2 Allures, and 3 Solemns already and the staples for the rest of the slots. Macro wouldn't benefit from this.

Why the random 300 damage?

 

It makes it so much more intimidating in the anime. Kids don't understand the concept of card advantage, especially since Judai always has as many cards as he needs and can always Summon a replacement monster for anything that is destroyed, but they do understand that losing Life Points is bad.

in other words, Quick-Play is the strongest of all Spell and Trap card.
