Call me a noob but i don't see the use for this' date=' paying half your lifepoints to negate? I mean it lets you negate everything but half your lifepoints are to big of a sacrifice.

That's why it takes SKILL to use this card.

A lot what YCM is lacking.

No it doesn't' date=' it just requires THOUGHT and the ability to THINK.

Which of the following would you negate (with solemn)

-D-Draw

-Mirror Force

-Torrential

-Synchro summon

-Solemn

Choose 1.

[/quote']

Is that towards everyone, or Tapion? Or is it a rhetorical question?

It's pretty good. I remember there being a card that destroys all cards on the field but since I can't remember the name, I like this card though quite costly if you have a lot of life points. Flaw more susceptible to losing the game if not used on the right card. So it's a 50% 50% card to me. Still I like it though since it's not that bad a damaging card. You can't compare to DSF since that's a monster and not everyone plays with Syncros and you have to snycro with two monsters and you have to tribute ANOTHER monster to activate the effect. Too much for my book.

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. >.>

Most half-decent players have a full extra deck. Also, DSF can tribute ITSELF for its effect, dealing 4000 on its own.

Damn I forgot about that loophole. Curse my inability to understand syncros and tuners. Though I don't understand what the Extra Deck has to do with anything. But you still can't compare the two. Sorta

Nobody was comparing them. I started this thread because DSF can OTK by itself after the opponent uses a Solemn at any point in time.

I think Solemn is great.

Really, negate a JD summon, negate a reborn, negate ANYthing u want.

ANYthing.

ANYthing.

If your opponent summons a 2 tribute, lets say 3000 atk, solemn it, even if you have 8000 lps. so, you stopped 3000 damage, then cleared the field.

also, i use this A LOT when im on 2000 life points or less, and its hardly a cost at all. and i dont think DSF changes much; i mean, as soon as u use it, they're not going to randomly summon it the next turn to get you down some more on lps.

I would rather pay half my lp than 2000 lp. Really, you need to pick when to use this, and at what time to determine how many lps you would have lost, or how much it would help ur opponent.

No it doesn't' date=' it just requires THOUGHT and the ability to THINK.

It depends on a lot of things.

I would not use it on D-Draw. They can have their 2 cards. Then, I'll just negate one when they play them. Already -1.

Mirror/Torrential only if I had 3+ monsters, or had one that i didnt want to be destroyed for a combo, or had low lps.

Synchro Summon again depends on what it is. Obviously you can't use it on Thoughtruler or Stardust. However, it can kill collosal easily and spare you 3000+ damage and kill a strong monster. DSF would work too, and it would probably deal more damage to you than solemn would. etc.

Solemn a solemn. Well, say, if I summoned JD, I would solemn a solemn. So then I pwn them with 3000+ dmg. This really depends on when you use it. However, I would probably always solemn a solemn as your opponent will then be in the same situation that you are in, and then your card doesnt get killed.

Overall, I would probably use it with Mirror Force, as Torrential would save your opponents own monsters from dying too.

Solemn Judgment is a card that is always usuable' date=' even if you have 1 lifepoint. Other counters like seven tools cant be used if you have too little lifepoints.

[/quote']

How the funk can you have 1 Life point?

The minimum is 2, and then you won't have Solemns left!

Unless I oversaw something.

But still, less than 50 LP are impossible in RL.

Reaper of the Cards (lowers 1400 LP to 20 LP), or use Shrink on it to get down to 10.

3 Mask of Darkness to return Solemns to hand.

3 of that... counter Fairy Guy who returns a counter trap.

Macro Cosmos + Necro Face. RFG Solemn after use. Shuffle it back with Necroface. Draw into it.

Transmigration Prophecy. Shuffle in two used up Solemns.

Dark Magic Curtain + Solemn

Gandora the Dragon of Destruction + Solemn

Jirai Gumo + Solemn

Judgment of the Pharaoh + Solemn

Return From the Different Dimension + Solemn

Vanity's Call + Solemn

Or any combination of these. So yeah, you oversaw quite a lot.

Solemn Judgment negates the Summon. Starry's/Thoughty's speed isn't fast enough to be able to negate Solemn Judgment.

ok, srry =| i thought that monster speeds were slower than any spell/traps, so starry/thought couldnt negate a bottomless, but yeah. now this makes me like solemn even more :)
