Hurrr. I agree with the list, as the opinions have been reinforced with good examples. I was a little iffy on the Black Whirlwind, but it really does make (almost) all Blackwings a Gadget.

what's your reasoning for not banning COSR. It allows you to play recklessly and not lose anything practically.

 

My reasoning is that I'm only banning 13 cards, not every banworthy card. I'm more worried about stuff like DSF and Heavy than I am about the one remaining COSR at the moment, especially since Konami's current list has a lot of random hate for Zombies.

my reasoning for hating heavy storm, and other mass st removal cards, to be considered and added to the reasons for banning it:

this meta sucks. one of the primary reasons this meta sucks is the over emphasis on power cards and the lack of love for more strategic ones. to give a simplistic example, traps are almost pointless. granted theres skill drain and oppression which grant themselves some inherent protection from mt-destruction (like lyla and gyz respectively), but overall, your backfield can get blown up at the very least once per 2 turns.

thats funking stupid.

because of that, the entire meta shifts away from any card that isnt almost completely chainable.

 

ive got to be honest here, i find the idea that a card that stops attacks for one turn (roar) is a staple at 3 in most decks to be funking stupid. this meta supports otks way too much, so sheet like that is suddenly amazing. one of the primary aids to otks is mass mt destruction. if they limited that, they could slow the pace of the game, and make it more about strategy than lucksacking with your individual otks.

 

the reason i dont like heavy storm, to simplify, is that it and cards like it shift the entire dynamic of the game.

they shift it from drawn out, strategic matches to quick, simple otks because no one is afraid of traps anymore.

furthermore they almost eliminate the usage of cards like needle ceiling, mirror force, and gravity bind because they never get a chance to go off because theyd get blown up first.

 

its funking stupid.

 

if they limited the ability to destroy the backfield, the game would be better.

of course then theyd have to put limitations on traps like skill drain and oppression, which would immediately begin to dominate the meta.

--DAD: I'm about half way through to making a DAD deck.

--CCV: I'm about half way through to making a DAD deck, and CCV would be awesome ever since I figured out what it did.

 

Italics: Ones I'd actually LIKE banned.

--Rescue Cat: Because I'm making a DAD deck, and GB's are going to be a big problem

--Gladiator Beast Gyzarus: See Rescue Cat reason

--JD: Because I'm making a DAD deck, and Lightsworns are going to be a big problem

 

As for the others, I could live with. Heavy and Reborn are setbacks, but ones I can live with.

 

As for Black Whirlwind, I can't remember what it does, so if it's a big help for the BW's then I would put it under italics. BW's will also be a problem against my DAD, so that's my reason for Black Whirlwind.

 

These are not predictions of what will happen in real life; they are declarations of what would be ideal for the game. Therefore, cast aside your bias.

 

Black Whirlwind allows all Blackwings to float.
