Beckoning Light is no longer able to turn a meh hand into an OTK hand so easily. It changes it enough to allow JD to be in play and not be as much of an end game card. Banlists aren't to kill meta decks, they're to help make the games last longer, encourage archetype decks and keep insta game winning cards to a minimum.
