The Transmigration Prophecy

Recommended Posts

Why was it at one in the first place? <_<

Because Konami thinks DD Borderline lock is broken.

Since that makes it a 2-card attack lock just like the other fifty 2-card attack locks, except worse because it also stops the user from attacking or using more than two Spell Cards, and which works even without The Transmigration Prophesy by applying Macro Cosmos, this makes as much sense as we can expect from the company that gave us Judgment Dragoon.

I had actually heard it was because Konami was afraid multiple copies of The Transmigration Prophesy could be used to recycle each other and prevent the user from decking out before the opponent did. No, that didn't make any sense either.

It is because you can recycle your own transmigration prophecies. It was before glad beasts and after raiza was put to 1 so nobody was playing the obvious answers to a field of Field Barrier + Clock Tower Prison + Magic Reflector protecting your field barrier and transmigration cycling your transmigration prophecy and magic reflector while waiting for final countdown to run out or opponent to deck out. There was only like 4 good answers at the time to kill the combo and unfortunately nobody really played them because raiza and wing blasts were considered inferior cards. The deck is based around only spells and traps, goes against the game's point of big monsters vs big monsters so they killed it before it really got to see much play.

Let me get this straight: it's Limited because it acted as half-decent support for a 3+-card combo?

During the D-Hero-Malicious and E-tele's at 3 fiasco it could have given tele-dad multiple chances to create the OTK situation should their first swarm fail. Burial from a DD to return whatever RFG'd Mal's you have then TP to send them back to the deck so you can RFG the last one in the grave to SS Mal and sync with PSZ or Krebons and repeat the process once more.

The card itself isn't broken it's pretty much every other card is broken that makes this so good.

In the Traditional Format, you could loop The Transmigration Prophecy with Reckless Greed and Secret Barrel provided that you have Makyura the Destructor or Cathedral of Nobles active. Not sure if they were all unrestricted at some point like Tsukuyomi, Mask of Darkness and Time Seal. If yes, it might be the reason why TTP got hit in the first place.
