Rose
Will probs get locked, ah well. A long time ago (Like 3-4 years) me and my friends used to try play deckleaders, where the play can activate there effect once per turn and move them onto the field anytime during the duel. If the deck leader dies, it's game over. I got a spark of this in another thread, but discuss what would happen (Besides the meta would probley get worse) If they made a new type of way to play the game where they release new cards that could be treated as deck leaders. A stupid idea? Maybe, i want to hear ycms opinion. Also Judgement dragon or Dad and ect wouldn't be deck leaders, new monsters would be instead. archie17
What you remember is called the Deck Master system. Its a single card from your Deck that you put aside. You can special summon it at anytime even on your opponent's turn, but if your deck master is destroyed you instantly lose the duel. This system came from the anime. Chaos Flame
I kinda think the system is cool, but really the only way it could work is if konami released cards that can only be used as deck masters. Otherwise you could OTK pretty easily by making five-headed dragon your deck master.
DARKPLANT RISING
I can't think up a monster good enough. But it would be "funner".

If you use your Deck Master as tribute fodder for one of the previously mentioned, that new monster becomes your new Deck Master. So you wouldn't be able to select FHD as your Deck Master right off the bat. Here's a card that i did long ago that tried to make the system realistic for TCG. http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-168291.html Here's the link for the DM in the anime http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Deck_Master

You know what, since Shinato, King of a Higher Plane is a shown deck master, which is a Ritual Monster its safe to assume Fusion etc as well. So yeah I guess any card can be choosen. In that case FTKs are increased big time. The system would have to be nerfed to be usable in any real capacity.
Sephiroth_The_Legend
wasnt that Deck Leader concept from the PS2 yugioh game, Duelist of the Roses? i always thought it wasnt good... made yugioh more like Chess.

I find it fun because i like chess. What if new monsters were released as deck leaders instead, e.g one deck leaders effect could be "Once per turn, you can pay 500 life points to put 1 spell counter on one card." Toffee.
points at Lightsworns and says 'the fun is already gone'Armityle is worse. First turn' date=' you summon a monster with 10k ATK. ........We should just limit the starting Deck Masters to be non-Synchro, non-Fusion, non-Nomi, non-Ritural, level 6 or below monsters. I say "Starting" because the deckmaster you [i']START OFF[/i] with has to abide by ALL of those conditions, but you can always replace it with other cards, after you bring it into play. Like how you can use Deal of Dark Ruler to replace a deckmaster Or if your Deckmaster is King of the Swamp, and you use Polymerization, Elemental Zero becomes your new Deck Master(provided you put King of the Swamp into play) Also, Deckmansters dont get "Summoned" when they are brought nto play. Also, lets say that the turn you bring a deckmaster into play, its unable to be destroyed.

I meant that the games will end too fast because your deck leader dying would mean Game Over. And that's done by simply adding 3 Dimensional Prisons, 3 Widespread Ruins, 3 Sakuretsu, 3 Lightning Vortex, 3 Offerings to the Doomed...

(points at Lightsworns and says 'the fun is already gone')[/quote'] That's why your not suppose to play your Deck Master unless its a last resort or a guaranteed victory. But I can see how tournament play would become all screwy because of it. Probably best if the system was made into a video game only.

-Griffin
http://www.cogonline.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=795 Shapesnatch(Ignition) Tie of Dark ControlSelect 1 monster you control. Switch the selected monster with your Deck Master. The selected monster is now your Deck Master. This Ability can only be used once per turn during your Standby Phase while your Deck Master is in its Deck Master Position. If your Deck Master is replaced by a new Deck Master, your new Deck Master also has this Deck Master Ability in addition to its own. Funnest Deck master ever.
