Dark_Armed_Zombie
Since discussing archetypes is a new trend on YCM, I thought we should discuss one that keeps juggling between tiers 1.5 and 2, GBs! Ok, so I've read multiple times that GBs are better (or atleast fuction well) without Test Tiger and Rescue Cat, but I haven't really seen any proof. Personally, I would love proof + links to back this claim up since it completely shatters what I know about GBs. Discuss the archetype as a whole (pros, cons, strats, tech, etc.) and the adaptation of GBs for the new meta.
CrabHelmet
Wait, Gladiator Beasts are better without Swiss Army Tiger now? When did that happen?
b0b3rt
Don't know, only that I too have seen a lot of builds foregoing the use of Test Tiger. I don't know much about GBs though, so...
Dark_Armed_Zombie
Apparently, over the last 10 days or so, GBs have been topping without Test Tiger, but it's fairly early in the format so it could be fluke like it was with LS last format (or so I hear) so it'll need more time to solidify. Although, the second "Corridor of Suffering" comes out, GBs will die completely except for maybe the occasional out-of-the-blue tourney where noone is prepared for them. Why so much hate for GBs? Manjoume Thunder
Get your facts straight. They didn't use Test Tiger last format. All the tops with 0x Tiger and 0x Kitty were last format. This format, everyone is using Tigers, because they can play more aggressively. When Infernities come, GBs will start to play like an anti-meta deck with 0x Tiger again. Fraz
Its a really bad card that glads can play around very easily but everyone seems to think will kill the deck like how they thought GB Hunter would kill glads when that came out, or how everyone thought consecrated light would actually dent blackwings. werewolfjedi
Although' date=' the second "Corridor of Suffering" comes out, GBs will die completely.[/quote'] What is this Card you speak of? it's a continous spell card that negates all the effects of monsters summoned from the deck, and doesn't allow them to attack ether.p.s. it hurts search summoning in general
BehindTheMask
I like the 0 Tiger 0 Cat 0 Samnite builds. Tiger is a nice card, however, it doesn't cut it anymore. I can't really explain it, but it doesn't hurt as much as it did before.
Aximil
I run GBs without Samnite, Tigers, or a Cat this format. But I have them all in my sidedeck so I can swap into last formats aggressive format if need be.

Canadian
As long as you have prisma your g2g. But in my opinion, with 2 bestiari's, people aren't going to be using rescue cat for synchro's with Airbellum. This is because Gyzarus is glad's staple card (at least imo) and it will be macro'd more than any generic synchro. Also, GB's rock.

CrabHelmet
I think it says something about the quality of this game that Test Tiger is a Smashing Ground or MST or Rush Recklessly or discard-free Monster Reincarnation that hits s/t as well or pseudo-Monster Reborn or et cetera et cetera, and yet it still isn't powerful enough to play. That's more than a little pathetic.

As Crab shows it's a swish army knife that can become whatever you need, so what about it makes it not as helpful as the other cards GBs are now running. GenzoTheHarpist
Because GBs themselves are swiss army knives. You don't need to waste cards for that service when they can do it themselves for free. It's a lot easier to just summon a big beefy GB and attack over something then tag out then using test tiger, and you ultimately gain more advantage doing so. ihop
I just duelled with GBs, I got Test Tiger and Laquari, Besti in Graveyard, tagged with Test Tiger into Darius, got Besti back with Darius, Gyzarus.Lol.It's also good when your opponent has no monsters, and you tag into Secutor and straight back out again for Gyzarus. GenzoTheHarpist
Er, that's probably the most basic move in test tiger GBs... anyone who's played them for a while has probably tagged for Darius on Besti more times than he can count. That was the whole basis for Prisma glads as well.
arkel
You have no idea how many times I've seen late-game GB mirror matches where both players are topdecking and can only poke each other with Test Tiger.
