THEY DISCOVERED IMMORTALITY!

..Yes, the JELLYFISH.

"The turritopsis nutricula species of jellyfish may be the only animal in the world to have truly discovered the fountain of youth.

Since it is capable of cycling from a mature adult stage to an immature polyp stage and back again, there may be no natural limit to its life span. Scientists say the hydrozoan jellyfish is the only known animal that can repeatedly turn back the hands of time and revert to its polyp state (its first stage of life).

The key lies in a process called transdifferentiation, where one type of cell is transformed into another type of cell. Some animals can undergo limited transdifferentiation and regenerate organs, such as salamanders, which can regrow limbs. Turritopsi nutricula, on the other hand, can regenerate its entire body over and over again. Researchers are studying the jellyfish to discover how it is able to reverse its aging process.

Because they are able to bypass death, the number of individuals is spiking. They're now found in oceans around the globe rather than just in their native Caribbean waters. "We are looking at a worldwide silent invasion," says Dr. Maria Miglietta of the Smithsonian Tropical Marine Institute. "

Yes, WWIII indeed. Of course, it would only last 14 minutes. Nukes.

ANYWAYS, The game.

It would be interesting if people were like this, though. Of course, they can only live forever given they have stuff to live with, like food. If people got this, they'd still have kids, and they'd drain the earth of resources and starve. Of course, we could just eat other people. Once this immortality elixir works on people, we'll have all the time in the world to figure out what to do next.

In that case' date=' it should be no problem to take the DNA, and smack it into, say, a rat. A few years laters, a cat. A few years later again, a human. Bam, immortality.

[/quote']

It's not that easy. If it wasn't a problem, we'd already see developements by now. It's a tough thing to do.

It involves gene splicing. It would be very complicated to gene splice jellyfish DNA with human DNA. It could very well destroy us as a species.

I wouldn't accept immortality. Life is too boring.

You can always kill yourself or have someone else kill you (If suicide is against your beliefs) after you get tired of living... That's what I would do...

And if it was introduced to the public, something like, "The Lottery" would have to take place...
