-Griffin
I was going to do a poll, but I don't like polls. They're random and don't fully reflect people's feelings. When you're making a Deck, what's important in it to you?Must it win a lot?Top tier?Just be fun to play?Does winning make it fun to play?Must it be original?Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks?Something different from what you played recently? When I make a Deck, it's usually just seeing an idea and wanting to make something of it. Such as seeing Voltic and Fusion Gate and wanting to see if a Deck would be consistent with them, or seeing how easily Fortress and Gearframe fit into any Machine Deck, and trying them with Gadgets (yes, I did that before I heard anyone else mention them). It's mostly just about seeing how far I can take an idea that I come up with, if that's high-tier or still a low-tier but fun Deck.
Manjoume Thunder
Step 1: I play anti-meta so I need to play VS some popular decks to see how they run.Step 2: I netdeck something that I haven't played before and that looks interesting.Step 3: I become addicted to the deck.Step 4: I realize that the thing that I netdecked was bad so I replace the horrible techs with mine (which are better ;))Step 5: I realize that Gadgets > the deck that I am currently playing so I stop playing it. OR Step 1: I find a Gadget variant that I haven't played in a while / at all.Step 2: I make a draft and improve it while testing.Step 3: I get addicted to it.Step 4: I realize that Standard Gadgets > the deck that I am currently playing so I stop playing it. Rose
When you're making a Deck, what's important in it to you? That it's good, Consistant and works.Must it win a lot? I don't really care too much about wining, but i atleast gotta win some games.Top tier? Any tier will do.Just be fun to play? I find pretty much mosts decks fun to play anyways. Except for Larve Moth.Does winning make it fun to play? Doesn't it always ;).Must it be original? Don't really care if it isn't.Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks? I always like to try and play with different decks. I love meta decks, non-meta decks and anti-meta decks.Something different from what you played recently? I use Machinas IRL and online i use Machinas and other types of decks, mostly other types of decks because playing the same deck over and over can get tiresome sometimes. What i consider when making a deck is if it's good enought, has a good enought side and that im running all the correct cards. Pretty much it after that. ~/Coolio Prime\~
Essentially making a deck based on the latest archetype/Frog to be released that appeals to me. Appealing to me involves an aspect of awesomeness and usability. This includes Frogs, Skull Empire, Elecanimals, and other such decktypes. I usually prefer themed archetype decks, or some sort of random deck with a convoluted win condition(NINJITSU ABUSE).
Guest JoshIcy
Naturally when I make a deck it usually has to peak my curiosity and be some form of expression when I play it such as Ice Barriers and Aliens. Liking cool places but tough to handle and Scientific/Sci-Fi Curiosity, respectively. Though for other decks, I try and stay away from Meta-Level Tactics and keep it Tier 2. Though there has been instances where I failed to do so and my original X-Saber Build ended up Meta. To me, how you win is far more important than if you win. And as I learn more and more about how the TCG/OCG is played, I can further these ideals in how I play.

Anyway I prefer winning by giving a GOOD fight instead of mindlessly ravage my opponent....so that can be considered my Gaming Style....

Aesirson
As long as it's fun to play, and wins at least 1/4 duels it's okay for me, but winning more makes it funnier.

Coffee Black
I've netdecked once, and it was a hopeless dragon build. Otherwise, I find fun/effective strategies to use and win with. I avoid the most commonly played decks.
gabapavich
I see a deck at locals I like, I try to make it, I give up because its too expensive, I get some packs, I pull something awesome, I take the deck I try to make, splash in the card i just pulled, and make a kickass original deck. .Leo
I was going to do a poll, but I don't like polls. They're random and don't fully reflect people's feelings. Go for it.When you're making a Deck, what's important in it to you? Functionality. Dead draws make it less fun for me.Must it win a lot? Depends. I didn't care if I lost with my Greed Quasar because it was fun.Top tier? If I go to a Regional/National top top tier. Locals whatever is fun and functions. Online, random ideas that I can make work ;3.Just be fun to play? I personally hate LS so fun and quality are two things that should come together.Does winning make it fun to play? Depends. Beating random decks isn't fun.Must it be original? I like making new things. TurboCannon, DestinyBaseball and GreedQuasar Turbo were fun.Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks? I want to stay away from LS. That is all really so no. Overplayed is LS.Something different from what you played recently? Yeah. I kinda went from TurboCannon -> Blackwings -> DestinyBaseball -> GreedQuasar -> Machina Gadgets/Gadget Monarch.
Dark_Armed_Zombie
Winning isn't super important, but if I keep getting utterly owned, there is a problem... consistency is a huge thing with me and is the entire reason why I hate turbo builds. Once you can make a deck consistent, it's easy to make it faster, but it's hard to make a fast deck consistent.
Edglar
I take a card, and build a deck around it, play a few games, update it, play a few games, update it, play a few more games, update it. The take it apart.
Mysty
When you're making a Deck, what's important in it to you? I'll let my other answers answer this one.Must it win a lot? No. I'll be happy if it wins a good percentage of games against non-meta decks. Against meta, I usually lose anyway, so I don't care.Top tier? No, I hate using Top Tier.Just be fun to play? I obviously want it to be fun to play, but I would like to win a good number of times against some non-meta decks.Does winning make it fun to play? Only if it doesn't focus too much on a "BOOM I win" card or combo. That kinda made my Crystal Beasts slightly less fun to play.Must it be original? I like original themes. Aliens are and most likely will always be my favorite, but I had fun playing Arcana Force and Crystal Beasts. I bet I'll have fun playing Koa'ki Meiru and Infernities when I make those decks.Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks? Yes I generally do, though I'll try out Infernities.Something different from what you played recently? I have but rarely use a Zombie World deck. Sometimes I use my regular Extra Deck with it and throw in my Warrior Tuners and Reinforcement of the Army to make up for my lack of Plaguespreader. TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
When you're making a Deck, what's important in it to you? That playing it is fun and is not too repetitive (I do not like OTKs and FTKs, unless they are funny like frog OTK/FTK)Must it win a lot? Normally I want my deck to win a lot, but in casual I care about playing my hardest to see how far a no-tier or low-tier deck can do against metas and copy-pastasTop tier? Yes and No, often they are based on top-tier but hybridized to the point of losing top-tier status.Just be fun to play? #1 requirement, if the game wasn't fun, who would play it anyways?Does winning make it fun to play? Winning is fun, but winning EVERY TIME can become repetitive and boring.Must it be original? Not necessarily, technically speaking there is a FINITE number of card combinations one can put into making a deck.Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks? When I use meta, I deviate from the main deck-type to make it cheaper and more fun to play, winning all the time can be boring.Something different from what you played recently? I have 15 or so decks irl, with some of the "staples" and more expensive meta-worthy cards shifting between them to save money.

.Gideon.
Must it be original <Do you want to stay away from "meta" or "overplayed" Decks < I'm an old school player, so I hate today's meta, I like originalityI see potential in some cards, and I start making a deck around them, test them against meta decks, improve, destroy meta decks with them. well personally, half of the fun in card games is creating the deck, coming up with new ideas and constructing a whole new deck my way, is always the biggest fun for me. originality FTW
SmallieBigs
Anything fun that I just come up with while playing around with other decks. Doesn't have to be top tier. (Like Magical Merchant OTKs)
