Demonology.

To those who lack common sense' date=' this is not a Religion.

-ology is a suffix that means 'study of'.

Demonology is the study of demons, thus not a Religion.

So, anyone here interested in Demonology?

It's interesting. Demons such as Nergal, Jezebeth, Lucifer, Eurynome, etc. are badass. <3

Discuss Demonology.

But the fact that demons are almost always linked with some sort of religion or belief system somewhat nullifies your point. All the demons you just named must've originated from somewhere, and I'll bet a majority of 'em came from a religious text or story.

Ehh, it sounds cool and whatnot, but like spirits/ghosts, I'm going to remain a skeptical bastard.

After rereading the thread... yeah. <___<

Doesn't seem that interesting, really. But I haven't gotten intensly into it.

demonology is probably the study of non-existent creatures such as demons...

it might also include angels and fairez.

Study of demons. Thus it's called Demonology.

Also, you can't prove that they don't exist.

Likewise, there is not enough evidence to perfectly prove god doesn't exist, but to my knowledge you don't believe in him/her/it. Any reason for the change of heart in this topic?

Doesn't the difference in religion determine whether or not Lucifer and Satan are the same person? Not fact?

Regardless' date=' I found the study intriguing. It does indeed take you to Final Fantasy.

I love that series, but from the whole one game I've played of it, it doesn't seem much like demons and whatnot.

Demonology is about as realisitc as religion to those who have eyes.

No s*** sherlock. Everyone knows Demons don't really exist. Unless you're one of those f**s on one of those ghost shows or something. :/

But yeah. Demonology is still rather interesting.

I don't even know what to say to this. =/

Anyways back on topic, I've always found Mythology more interesting than Demonology.

If that were the case, then everyone would be a demon or have a demon inside of them.

You're just as a human as the rest of us.

Now, on topic:

Demonology is quite a good topic to discuss with other people who share the same interest, or a similar one.

I find that demons, of all kinds, do exist in this world, just not to the naked eye. They may actually be able to posses the human mind and be able to direct them towards the path the said demon wants them to go.

Like for example, you are a demon, and you want someone to follow the path of evil. Well, to commit the most evil from the path, you would want to try to control a priest, or someone of a Anti-Demon Religion (very anti mind you), such as Christianity, or Judaism, or such. Well, simply put, you do whatever in your power to control the said follower to the path of evil. I think you can think of the rest for yourself.

But I just don't think they only exist for that reason. Some demons are meant for other things, like causing people to go mad, or stuff like that.

Still, Demonology is fun to study.

Eh' date=' Demonology is fun, but Destruction is a much more fun raid spec.

[/quote']

I remember it being so difficult to choose between Demonology, Destruction, and Affliction. I ended up choosing Affliction.

Anywho, being a Catholic, I honestly think it's interesting to learn about the dark side of the moon. I mean, when you've played a video game, you already know everything about the protagonist, and it makes it much more interesting to learn about the antagonist. However, some demons are kind of creepy. D:

Also, I'm pretty sure Leviathan is in the Bible, in the book of Jobe. I think it left out the detail of the Behemoth being the male counterpart of the Leviathan. Then again, they may not be following the biblical Leviathan, but whatever. I also enjoy Dragonology.
