Tentacruel
I just had a math test yesterday and I had a list of formulas in my backpack which was lying open conveniently under my desk. Is this cheating? Not that I care, I'm just curious.
Mehmani
Formulas? I don't really think so. Formulas are just bare-bones equations, they don't actually provide answers, only the means to get them. In England, Formulas are printed on the first page of exam booklets to remind people what they are. In America, it would be considered cheating (probably). In England, it wouldn't. So I don't think it is.
Cyber Altair
Yeah we used to get them given on the first page. Thank god edexel didn't funk up or I would have failed.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Probably it wouldn't be considered cheating but it depends on the instructor giving the exam who determines it as a cheat or not.
Fizzy™
I don't thiink it's cheating. You should be allowed to use a list of formulas anyway. We have a book of formulae and are allowed to use them for any maths exam... so yeah I wouldn't consider it cheating.
---------------
in america, it really depends on the instructor. state tests give you a list of formulae, anyways. regular tests, midterms, and finals, it depends on the teacher. i dont think its cheating, tho y do u ask, anyways? did u get caught? Dark
On state exams in the US, they normally do give formulas. Mainly because memorizing fifty formulas is useless, and bears no resemblance to anything you'd do in real life. And I've done my fair share of cheating, although not overly. Can't think of anything else I've ever cheated on, intentionally or otherwise.

Lazer Yoshi
In Math tests, all kids should be allowed to have their book open. They're not getting the answers, they're figuring out how to do the answers. There's so many formulas and rules to remember. It's like cooking. Do we cook food without a cookbook or some sort of instructions without remembering? No.
