It isn't that useful. You have to have a (usually) weak monster on the field of a specific Archetype, only works on your own turn, and depending on the rulings, it might not stop certain effects. Then again, it doesn't say "on the field", so it could potentially stop their effects from working in the hand, deck, or Graveyard as well. I don't know if this is true or not, however.
