Strange DREV card...(Summon Curse)

Recommended Posts

I suppose it's probably because Duelist Revolution isn't going to come out in a while that there's not so many topics regarding the miscellaneous cards and such. <_<

This card's controller pays 500 Life Points during the End Phase' date=' or this card is destroyed. If this card is on the field, when a monster(s) is successfully Special Summoned, that monster's controller selects 1 card in their hand and removes it from play.

This....has the potential to be devastating. consider how many monsters does your average X-saber deck special summon. or an Infernity deck. or a Blackwing deck. heck, just consider how many Synchro summons go around. it grants a great deal of control as to what your opponent can do since it all boils down to:

A)go through with the summon, lose hand advantage

B)don't special summon so much, lose field advantage until you get something that can blow it up

sure, hypothetically you got a great deal of things that can block this thing off, but in a dedicated control deck where you'll have plenty of crap to defend from that, wouldn't this prove to be extremely good?

anyhow, discuss.

I can see this being really annoying' date=' but RO is still better.

hm, true....Opression is still better, but the LP cost is lower (lol LP, I know), and though it can backfire on you, you can choose the card you lose, which is important here.

For example (not the best example, mind you), I use a Dimensional Monarchs deck. an opponent's still going to be losing creatures since they'll either get RFG'd by Caius, topdecked by Raiza, or RFG'd by the 3 D.D. warrior ladies or 2 D.D. assailants that the deck carries.

I don't use special summons that much, sans D.D.R abuse and D.D. scout planes. in this case, a D.D.R. would probably be a -2 (maybe? not quite sure how the advantage goes: would it count as a -2 if you had to discard two cards from the hand?), yet an opponent that goes special summoning like crazy will be continuously -1'ing her/himself just to try and gather up a strategy. my extra -1 cost can be something like a Monster in general (which I can recover easily with a D. Alchemist), or another Spell (which I can also recover with that new card, Parallel Select).....so, from my point of view, this thing's an awesome tech for my deck.

however, my deck kinda sucks on the Tier Scale, hehe. so yeah. <_<

If the maintenance cost was optional, It'd be alot better. Not even oppression can control whether to get rid of itself or not.

But really, I wouldn't run it. If they can still summon JD / DAD, how is losing 1 card from their hand that much of an investment to me?

Oppresion is clearly the better one, this is obvious. But I also believe that Oppresion is OP'ed and needs to get hit harder on the list (*cough* *cough* ban it *cough*). When thats all said and done with, this card could be decent I suppose.

Seems inferior to Summon Limit and Royal Oppression.

or an Infernity deck

I lol'd. This doesn't affect them at all.

This is WAY better than Summon Limit... Summon limit just makes people play a little bit slower' date=' this actually punishes your opponent.

Yeah, does it ever. Most Decks don't like being removed from play.

Isn't that a BEWD? D:

Yeah, it is. And it's being sealed by the ring from Dark Magician. Yep, they're still at it.

the cost is opitional, but since it's at the endphase, you can't choose to not pay it and have it ever effect your opponent.

also, mist valley deck could abuse this so bad.
