Card Review: M/-\sked Chopper

This guy, Masked Chopper, isn't as stupid as everyone thinks he normally is.

 

Sure, with an ATK of 100, with the same amount of DEF to follow up his small trail, he has a devastating effect besides the fact of his weaknesses.

 

This card is searchable via Sangan, still used nowadays, Giant Rat, maybe not that splashable, Witch of the Black Forest, quite forgotten about, and the fairly new One for One.

 

'Riryoku' can deal out a devastating trailblazer for your opponent, seeing as no matter how strong the monster, this card'll knock it down, and give a lethal 2000 points of damage.

 

It has been proven that this guy can give an OTK/FTK.

FTK:

Set 'Ojama Trio', 'All Out Attacks' and 'Rush Recklessly' whilst summoning Masked Chopper to the field.

On your opponents turn, you flip up 'All Out Attacks' and then reveal your 'Ojama Trio' before the opponent Summons a monster or anything.

Your opponent Special Summoning a monster can take a huge blow to the FTK. With no other choice than to attack with the Tokens, you can flip your 'Rush Recklessly' to boost Armed Chopper to a slightly bigger 800. With this in hand, when the Tokens are destroyed, they take:

 

900 from the destruction of the Tokens

6000 from Masked Chopper's Effect

2400 of Battle Damage due to Rush Recklessly.

 

Dealing out a towering amount of damage, which is:

9300!

The FTK needs specific (and some Limited) cards in order to work properly. And Chopper can be shot down pretty easily overall.

Riryoku is terrible.

 

And no, a bad card plus another bad card does not always equal a good combo.

You're assuming that your opponent is an brainless idiot and that he won't Summon a monster with 900 or higher ATK and/or use the Tokens to Synchro Summon.

 

And a FTK kill that doesn't even win on the first turn? Brilliant FTK!

 

And Rush Recklessly is terrible as well.

That's like saying that a deck based around Guardian Angel Joan can break Joan because you can use it with Arsenal Summoner, Valhalla and Honest.

 

No matter how hard you try to make a card playable, most of times it is and it will stay a terrible piece of cardboard that is either outclassed so badly or just so damn bad that it isn't even worth the try.

 

Don't say - you can do that with any card. >.>
