DARKPLANT RISING
One of my friends told me that the reason no one plays Duel M@ssters anymore is because new packs and things released way OP cards that wrecked the meta to bits every two weeks, making many kids upset that "their new ace will become useless soon". I cheered. The next second, I realized that cheering wasn't what I was supposed to do. Sure I love the fact those copycats are dying, but can't OP cards be the same in YGO...AHHHHHHHHH!!! Of course, the YGO meta doesn't change every two weeks, but Infernities, X-Sabers and the current new meta cards are starting to change it very much. Yeah, DAD and JD stay as the two lords of YGO, but still. Since the number of YGO fans is 10 or more times that of Duel M@ssters worldwide due to many countries they're selling in and their plain awesomeness no one can copy, the chances YGO will completely die out soon are very slim-but still, many OP'ed cards are changing the format. What do you think about this problem, YCM?
Manjoume Thunder
making many kids upset that "their new ace will become useless soon". That's definitely not happening in YGO. Look at how long cards like DAD, JD and the whole BW archetype have been on top.

CrabHelmet
The fact that the game didn't go under two years ago (when it became unplayably broken) proves that it never will.

It's my current main deck. Still, it's not as strong as before.Konami balances out the format by making many Lightsworns high-price, and not everyone uses them. Maybe that's why Duel M@ssters failed-you can pay 10 bucks to get a pack containing 15 Lightsworns and their supports.
CrabHelmet
Obviously, the Yugimonz TCG's strength is that it's a money game where wealth equals power. Obviously. With strengths like that, who needs weaknesses?

Decisions decisions...oh, wait. And I didn't live through Tele-DAD - I barely even know what it consists of, besides DAD, Krebons and E-Tele. Was it really that bad? TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
TeleDAD was the bane of my yugioh career back in the day, thank goodness it was buried by the banlist. Now all they need to do is bury (or at least nerf) all decks that can win easily and consistently by turn 5, and we will finally have a balanced game based on slow but steady tactics instead of racing for the field wipe and direct attack spams. But that will never happen, because as someone told me before, burninating the current meta will just make the anti-meta into the next meta, and so forth. It's still very playable, at least better than most of the decks out there. It's just that Lightsworn and Blackwings are better. Along with Infernity OTK. RyanAtlus
Wasn't Duel M@ssters the anime series in which a generic dwarf had to play card games to find a missing relative back? The reason why it died is very simple: not enough card games on motorcycles. OT: I think this meta is a lot better than the last few metas we've had. Seriously. We're actually having more than 3 kinds of decks in T16. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was a F**KING TRASH ripoff of MTG and YGO, whose show had no real plot and whose cards were all themeless and pointless. [/sarcasm] However, the game does have its faults. Money =/= skill, but money = best cards. That's hardly fair. Granted, Gold Series helps that, but still... just-duelist
you know duel masters was created by the same company that made MTG for the soul purpose of being an alternate version of MTG...surprisingly it was the top sellin card game in japan for 2 yearsthen again it was the same with battle spirits and yet there seems to be few people playing it in the US
