The Dragon Duelist
Nowa days we see nothing but OTK and FTK decks that "Pure" Archtype decks are being forgotten and it's sad that everyone is so worried about winning quickly that they forget FUN! Example:I was talking about my Cyberdark deck and everyone was telling me to build a Cyberdragunity OTK deck when the whole point was to build a pure cyberdark deck I could use for fun. This thread is for everyone to discuss NICELY about their points of view on this topic.
R3V3NG3
Becuase they win consistently thus is why they are Meta
The Dragon Duelist
They make winning Easier which in my oppinion is no fun. And just about any deck can win consistantly if the right person duels with it.
R3V3NG3
But honestly if a Quickdraw Dandy (which is Meta kinda) faces a Cyberdark deck who do you think will win? Without a Bias to either decks
The Dragon Duelist
Depends on who is dueling and the hands. USing all these same decks is like using a cheatsheet.
Guest JoshIcy
Win win win win win win... Screw winning. Someone has to lose in order for you to win. If you play on the premise that neither player wins, because they're both having playing how they like (no matter how consistent the deck). Both players win. But if you're a tourney player, whatever lol; go for the speedier decks.
R3V3NG3
But using a cheatsheet in this game isnt cheating. And honestly only a n00b who clogs there field with Dandy tokens, would lose to Cyberdark's
Kyosuke Kiryu
Infernities is pretty much a "Pure" deck as you describe it, and it's pretty much one of the best decks out right now.
The Dragon Duelist
I honestly get running OTK and FTKs don't get me wrong. I run a few, but doesn't it get boring? I mean I would prefer acctually planning out what I am going to do During the duel.
Guest PikaPerson01
You don't get a higher record for running a more pure or fun deck at Regionals.
R3V3NG3
Does the satifacation of losing out way playing a Strategic deck?
The Dragon Duelist
You are missing the point of this. Winning isn't everything. In fact it is good to loose, because winning all the time will get boring and you won't learn a single thing.
R3V3NG3
But appearantly if you win against Pro's you have nothing to lose.

The Dragon Duelist
Loosing can be fun too. I have lost plenty of times and had more fun with the challenge then I did winning.

-Griffin
Losing is never fun. You learn from losing' date=' sure, but it's never fun.[/quote'] It can be if you go down trolling. Even if you lose, making your opponent explode from rage because you just used your third Battle Fader, or something, can be extremely funny. Not to mention seeing interesting techs and stuff can be interesting to some of us. Sometimes the duel itself can be fun, even if seeing the LP counter hit 0 isn't. Super9990
Winning is fun. ESPECIALLY when you do it with Empty Jar. I like how the nubs rage when they run out of cards to draw on DMG.
The Dragon Duelist
Yes Glads are Pure. By pure decks I mean decks that don't seperate from the archtypes.
Dr. Cakey
BlackwingsGladiator BeastsInfernitiesLightsworns (to some degree)X-Sabers (haven't made it onto the map despite all the hype) All of these are "Pure" Archetypes, are used (too) often (except Infernities, for now), and win consistently. Frogs probably can get onto that list with TSHD, too. You shouldn't really complain - Konami's on your side. It wants people to be playing "Pure" archetypes. Most of the banlist updates attack your "non-Pure" decks - why? Because the mysterious genius of the card-playing populace outweighs Konami's card-making skillz. Lots of people were happy when Quickdraw came out - but who saw it and said, "this is winning the next SJC"?...It's also not an OTK deck. Most people are unhappy with Konami's archetype obsession rather than the opposite. Can you honestly say a mish-mash like Volcanic Garden Zaloog is not awesome? Also, Cyberdragunity can OTK?
