Darj
Since I am quite a fan of Koa'ki Meiru, I had thought in cards that could greatly help them. One of those cards is a monster that could be treated as the Iron Core while in your hand and that could be destroyed in place of another "Koa'ki Meiru" during the End Phase, while the other is an Spell card that summons Tokens when you send an Iron Core the the grave or destroy your Koa'kis during the End Phase. Coincidentally, Konami releases the next card: I am not trying to show off here, but I must say I am impressed with how be both could identify the support that Koa'ki Meirus needed (Tokens and an Iron Core monster replacement), but it impresses me even more how Konami mixed both effects in a single card, whose rarity is "Rare" when you would expect it to be Ultra or even Secret Rare. I think this card is just what Koa'kis needed because: With 1800 ATK this card is a pretty decent beatstick, it works well with the Specimen Lab, it generates Tokens with high ATK as well and it can help you save another precious "Koa'ki Meiru" you control. The only things I don't get is:-Why it is Rock-Type when the Iron Core is made of... iron. Shouldn't it be a Machine?-Why it is called "Prototype" when it clearly an advanced, autonomous version of the Iron Core itself? Anyways: Do you think this card can turn "Koa'ki Meirus" into a powerful threat against the current meta? Or maybe they would need further support to do that? Is this card at least good, or am I the only one who considers it awesome?Discuss.
Dr. Cakey
You're right about everything, except no, this does not suddenly make them awesome. I wish it did, though. Also, I believe the Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru is made of steel, seeing as the Japanese name is Koa'ki Meiru Steel Core. But since America used to run on the steel industry, Konami decided it was close enough to a religious term and changed it.
Toffee.
Prototype is nice. It adds to the Rock-Stun aspect of Koa'ki Meirus :
Great Unclean One: VK
You said it all bro. Core Chimail are awesome, but they need something to make them faster or negate their cost. Oh and a draw engine is nice!
Canadian
I would like to see more Rock Koa'kis as that would probably be the best thing going for them. ITT: Prototype would need to make tokens with 5000ATK/5000DEF for me to even consider whether or not to run pure Koa'kis.
BulletMan
I've tested Pure Koa'kis, when I heard about this guy. The results: did decent draw, never had a time where my guy was destroyed during the end phase unless sudden things happened, and I would say, at their best, they can be tier 3 (pure). TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
A koaki rock stun could make tier 2.5 if they are lucky (get more decent support like this), but currently I can see them reaching tier 3 (just wait for Koaki Meiru [insert clever title for Spell Negating Rock Here]). Dark_Armed_Zombie
I still think the tokens should have the effect of destroying itself inplace of another Koa'ki (adding the whole "except tokens" part to the token spawn ability), and/or the ATK should be 1900, either of those changes would make me want to run this card so much. I know it's still good, but eh, I'm not impressed...
