Theme: Field Spell (or Field Chibi)

Card:

[spoiler=Hass Mac's

Card]480883.jpg

Lore:

If there is a face-up Synchro or Tuner Monster on your side of the field, destroy this card. When a non-Synchro Monster battles a Synchro Monster, increase its ATK by 1000 during battle calculations only. The effects of all face-up Synchro Monsters are negated. Pay 100 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, destroy this card.

[spoiler=J-Max's Card]48078w.jpg

Lore:

This card can only be Special Summoned to your Field Spell Zone by removing from play 1 Field Spell Card you control. This card gains the effect of the removed card. During each player's Draw Phase, the turn player can increase the Life Points of either player by 2000. If your opponent's Life Points are increased using this effect, they must discard 1 card from their hand to the Graveyard. Each player must reveal every card they draw and activate the appropriate effect depending on the type of card:

- Spell: Increase the Life Points of both players by 500 x the number of cards on the field.

- Trap: Both players draw 1 card.

- Monster: Special Summon the card to the controller's field. Increase the Life Points of the other player by an amount equal to the combined ATK and DEF of the monster.

If this card is removed from the field, you can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard to add this card to your hand. If you cannot, this card is removed from play. If your opponent controls a face-up "Field Chibi", each player can draw 2 cards instead of 1 during each Draw Phase.

This is an unbiased opinion and rating of each card. Please bear that in mind as you read this.

HASS MAC:

NAME: Seems forced and generic to me. It's not bad, but it's a bit bland.

IMAGE: It's an MTG image of a Zendikar Mountain - and my personal favorite artwork for red lands in that set.

EFFECT: It's like Skyscraper for Non-Synchros/Tuners. Negating the effects of all Synchros is an interesting twist as well - maybe a bit too overpowered (especially if you're not using any Synchros or Tuners yourself). Having said that, maybe the maintainance cost should be a bit higher than 100 to balance it out.

PLAYABILITY: As is, I could see a LOT of people sidedecking this. If you're not using Synchros or Tuners, you don't have to worry about the first destruction part. The ATK gain effect makes it easy to overrun more popular Synchros like Stardust, Goyo, Brionac, and such. As is, the maintainance cost of 100 LP is practically IDEAL, but a bit broken.

RATING: 8/10 It's a good effect, but some might consider it a bit too basic. Of course, some of the better cards in YGO have basic effects.

J-MAX

NAME: It's your archetype, so it fits.

IMAGE: It's cute, but a tiny bit blurry to me.

EFFECT: Turning into a Field Spell for its effect, similar to my Commanders, (They rival quite well). It's certainly unique. It also has a nice recovery effect.

PLAYABILITY: Some might be put off by this because it requires running Field Spells. The life gain effect for a -1 from the hand might help some. The revealing the drawn card effect is interesting - because it can keep going if Traps are continually drawn. The Sp. Summoning of a monster is a nice way to trigger Torrential Tribute. I remember the story behind their recovery from the Graveyard effect - and can be useful with some cards (like Malicious). The last effect of being able to draw 2 cards if the opponent controls a "Field Chibi" is INCREDIBLY situational, but fun in a mirror match - or if you're crazy enough to give them your initial Field Chibi.

RATING: 9/10 It's a unique effect and could be fun to play around with.

FINAL VERDICT: J-Max gets my vote.

Okay, so here's what I like and what I don't like.

Floating Sanctuary of the Anti-Synchro : That's kind of a bad name IMO when I think about it. Like there is a sanctuary somewhere just called "Floating Sanctuary of the Anti-Synchro" I dunno, just me. The effect is okay, not terribly original but it could have some use. I do like the picture of this one more than J-Max's.

Field Chibi - Kawaii Sweetness

Ok, so I like the name better...the effect certainly is more well thought out and more original, and you know I would generally like something like this much more than the other card. There's just one problem though, and the problem is that I find the effect to be broken.

There's just so many things with this. The continual draw with trap cards could potentially be a problem, and there's so much Life Gain involved with one card here. Not as much as a problem as the other points is that it works pretty well with Bad Reaction to Simochi. And I'm not sure if you intended to make yourself discard if your opponent made you gain Life Points or not, but either way that's pretty abusable too.

Anyway, my vote goes to Hass Mac, simply because I'll always vote for the other card if I find one to be banworthy.

Hass Mac gets my vote.

J-Max's card has too many OCG errors, not only Standard OCG but also Field Spell OCG, which can be used by both players and thus should be written from a neutral standpoint. In other words, it shouldn't use words like "you" or "your opponent", but rather "the turn player" and "the turn player's opponent", or appropriate. Not to mention the massive LP generation, draw power and overall OP-ness.

Hass Mac also does this, but not as much as J-Max does. Thus, his card is better.

Both card has some weird OCG because Field Card is affect everyone and can be assumed belong to both players while its on the field. The weird one is in bold.

Hass Mac's Card:

If there is a face-up Synchro or Tuner Monster on your side of the field, destroy this card. When a non-Synchro Monster battles a Synchro Monster, increase its ATK by 1000 during battle calculations only. The effects of all face-up Synchro Monsters are negated. Pay 100 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. If you do not, destroy this card.

Like i said previously, Field Card is basically belong to both players while its on the field. In your lore you stated that "If there is a face-up Synchro or Tuner Monster on your side of the field, destroy this card" it also mean that "If there is a face-up Synchro or Tuner Monster on the field, destroy this card". And that makes the next sentence weirder because when a Synchro is on the field, this card is destroyed.

J-Max's Card:

The "If your opponent" word is weird. Field Card belong to both players so both players receive any Field Card's advantages or disadvantages. There is no "this card's effect is for me while that card's effect is for my opponent" in Field Cards. Both players receive equal or same effect's from Field Card (and that why it call Field, its belong to anybody).

If i'm must choose, i choose J-Max's card. Because despite the weird OCG, it still can be counted as a Field Card. While on Hass Mac's card, it more appropriate if it become a Continuous Spell (because then it can give an advantages to the owner of the card, not the whole field).

+1 Vote for you J-Max! ;)
