NEW AGENDA: Seeking out the starry beast guy

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a deck in WC10, and it depends completely on Magical Merchant. I need a way to search it out quickly so that it is still able to use its effect. Additionally, the searching cards MUST be monsters.

They must either: add to the hand OR Special Summon face-down.

The only ones I can come up with are Sangan and Deep Diver, but Deep Diver is painfully slow and Sangan isn't enough. Is there anything I'm missing?

EDIT: OK, thanks for the tip. I can't believe I forgot Gokipon. Unfortunately, the deck flopped - I failed to account for the fact that you can't activate Pot of Avarice if you don't have any cards left in the deck. Now I'm experimenting with the God Bird of Doom OTK, and I want a searcher for Gallis the Star Beast. Again, it MUST put into the hand, and MUST be a monster - and of course, the card has to be in WC10. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tips, but it turns out the deck doesn't work, as I explained in my edited post above. Now I'm trying to find a way to search Gallis the Star Beast INTO THE HAND and WITH A MONSTER. More than one or two Spells/Traps in a God Bird of Doom Deck ruins it, so all I have in it is Gold Sarcophagus.

You can't activate Pot of Avarice with an empty deck? That logically also means you can't use it with less than 2 cards in the deck. The only reason I can think of for that rule is because you cannot deliberately play a card that would cause yourself to lose (not counting inflicting damage to yourself), so you can't use a draw card if you'll deck out. By returning 5 Synchro/Fusions to the (Extra) Deck, you'd be capable of decking out. However, that should only apply in video games, and not in RL...weird.

At the time Pot of Avarice would be activated, you have no cards in your deck, and it is implied that you must have at least 2 cards to draw, even though you might after cards are returned. Similarly, if Magical Merchant is flipped and you have no S/Ts left in your deck, the effect disappears because there is no valid target.

On the other hand, if you activated, say, Allure while you had 2 cards left in the deck, and your opponent chained Assault on GHQ or something, the card would already have been activated, so you would attempt to draw while you had no cards and lose. I think?

Oops, try again.

On-topic: Uhh... what's your deck trying to do again? <_<

And if it can really mill itself that well, to the point where you have zero cards in deck very early on, why not 3x Wulf, 3x Jinzo, 3x Jinzo Returner, 3x Vayu, 3x Level 5 Blackwing guy, 1x Plague 1x Mezuki, just to get an OTK? <_<

Oh, I never explained the deck. I was inspired by the God Bird of Doom OTK to make an Exodia Deck with 1 Spell (Pot of Avarice), and mill most of my deck with Magical Merchant, then use PoA to return the Exodia parts, resulting in a 3-6 card deck of Exodia parts. I realized I needed to add a 2nd Spell to do it properly, so I added Recycle, too, which would have been really awesome, since I would then have just 1 Spell, and have it at the bottom of my deck, resulting in a 3 card deck of Exodia parts. But since I couldn't activate PoA at that point, I abandoned the idea.

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot about Sphere of Chaos. Having it x3 would make the deck so much faster - it searches every part of the OTK, after all. Someone needs to try this in the next YCS...
