ExtremeG
I don't know if this is the right thread for this but here it goes. I'm trying to make a card that has an effect that if it attacks a monster and false to kill it, like Spirit Reaper, Marshmellon, Union monster, ect, it hits the opponent with damage, like 500 or 800, I haven't decided yet. How would you suggest I right that in proper OCG format
bentleyeugene92
i stole this from mist valley soldier, should be somewhere along the lines of:"While you control this face-up card, if an opponent's monster battles this card, but is not destroyed by battle, inflict (AMOUNT) of damage to your opponent at the end of damage step." darkwolf777
It would seem like he wants his monster to attack the opponent's monster and not kill it, not their monster attacking his. "If this card battles an opponent's monster and their monster is not destroyed by that battle, Inflict 800 damage to your opponent's Life Points after Damage Calculation." "After Damage Calculation" would be better if you want the effect to work even if YOUR monster is destroyed by the battle (and not theirs). If you rather not have that, then use "at the end of the Damage Step" where your monster wouldn't be face-up for its effect to activate. Now the way its worded, it'll work if you attack and if your opponent attacks it. If you only want it to work when you declare the attack then use the word "attacks" instead of the word "battles", i.e. "If this card attacks an opponent's monster". Sephiroth_The_Legend
This card cannot be destroyed by a result of battle (Damage Calculation is applied normally).Whenever this card attacks or is attacked, inflict 800 damage to your opponent's Life Points. there. Dr. Cakey
This card cannot be destroyed by a result of battle (Damage Calculation is applied normally).Whenever this card attacks or is attacked' date=' inflict 800 damage to your opponent's Life Points. there.[/quote'] Anyone who even thinks about writing (Damage calculation is applied normally) loses 1 awesome. Okay, your question has been answered. I don't think this is really the right forum, but I'm not sure if there IS a right forum. Already-existing cards will often have the kind of text that applies to your card even if they don't have exactly the same effect. In this case, you'd want to look at Sword Master. Be sure to look at current cards, because lots of old cards have god-awful OCG (a phrase like ' "Archetype" in its card name' was used for the longest time, instead of ' "Archetype" monster').
