Cyberdog
So I've been away from the game for some-time doing other *more important* things. However I've returned for a while and I needed something to play with so I've come up with this. 3 x Red Gadget3 x Yellow Gadget3 x Green Gadget= 9 I had the view to eventually creating this In real life for play at a local store, so I looked at what I had left from the days I used to play reguarly. The gadgets looked like they could form a basic engine for me to work around. So the traffic lights came on board. 1 x Cyber Dragon1 x Jinzo3 x Scrap Recycler3 x Cyber Valley=8 Next I needed some beat sticks and some more drawing power. Cyber Dragon was one of my old staples back in the day, especially in something based around machines. Scrap Recycler is the first new card I decided on. Looking at it, it was perfect for gadgets allowing me to re-use the engine and possibly draw a card or two. Cyber Valley was next on board forming a good drawing engine and one of those psedo-threating roar like thingys. Jinzo is just a trap nulifing beat-stick, not sure if its really neccisary. 2 x Cyber Phoenix2 x Road Synchron1 x Card Trooper1 x Snipe Hunter1 x D.D. Crow=7 Cyber Phoenix comes on board for protection and well I just like it. Trooper was added due to the lack of targets for Scrap Recycler, it needed more and trooper was actually useful unlike some of the other options. Road Synchron was a level *2* tuner I could use with the gadgets for level 6 synchro and of course was a machine with decent stats. I considered "Drill Synchron" but I'm not sure if Level 7 Synchros or Level 6 would be more important to bring out consistently, Drill Synchron does have the advantage of being Earth Type and hence being a Scrap Recycler target. Snipe Hunter is a classic way to use the excess Gadgets and hence was included, not to mention it can dump other dead cards. It seems alot of cards rely on sheet being in the graveyard to work so maining a single D.D. Crow really gets the drop on some people who don't think it will be used round 1 but instead be sided in. 1 x Overload Fusion1 x Limiter Removal1 x Heavy Storm1 x Brain Control1 x Card Destruction=5 Next I moved onto some spells, I looked at the banlist and decided which of my usual machine stables were still able to be used. Overload Fusion could once is a full-moon win me the game, unfortunely most of the time it would be used as discard fodder / a bluff. Limiter Removal allows for some big plays, notice most of my monsters are machines so it will almost always be able to be used. Storm is classic field clearing and Brain Control has allowed the gadgets and friends get past something annoying that just stands in the way, tributing it for Jinzo/Cyber Dragon is always fun. I run Card Destruction but I'm not sure why. 3 x Smashing Ground3 x Fissure3 x Hammer Shot=9 The first of the gadget builds were built around a spell core like this, I'm not sure if it is still viable. Lightning Vortex would perhaps me more useful than one of them, I'd proply drop 1 of each to incorperate a full set of Vortexs. 1 x Trapdust Shoot1 x Mirror Force1 x Torrential Tribute1 x Call of the Haunted= 4 A typical bunch of traps, doing what they say on the tin. Dust Shoot is quite useful turn 1 - 3, after that it is often dead weight but it can be so useful. Total = 42 Okay so 42 cards was never really consitent with 9 gadgets running in them and well plenty of drawing potential, I needed to find some way to add 3 cards to make me up to 45, a number I always liked for gadgets. 3 x Divine Wrath=3 Divine Wrath was a bit of Anti-Meta, the amount of stuff I can get in my hand that isn't useful can be a bit of a pain but Divine Wrath can turn that into a life saver, negating some very annoying effect monsters for me. Extra Deck1 x Chimeratech Fortress1 x Chimeratech Overdragon1 x Stardust Dragon1 x Brionic, Dragon of the Ice Barrier1 x Goyo Guardian1 x Black Rose Dragon1 x Dark End Dragon1 x Light End Dragon1 x Thought Ruler Archfiend1 x Flamvell Uruquizas1 x Ally of Justice Catasor1 x Armory Arm1 x Road Warrior1 x Magical Android1 x Drill Warrior= 15 I've always liked the idea of an extra deck being a toolbox and so this is a varied as I could make it. Drill Warrior is a bit of a filler of I'm honest, but it would make the switch to Drill Synchron over Road. Side Deck3 x Mask of Restrict3 x Threatening Roar3 x Lightning Vortex2 x D.D. Crow1 x Mystical Space Typhoon1 x Giant Trunade1 x Return from A Different Dimension1 x Waboku To be honest I'm not sure what I need to side against. Monarchs seems to be quite big, Since I don't really ever need to tribute Mask of Restrict was an obvious choice. Jinzo gets switched out for a copy, most of the time Cyber Dragon and Overload are the other two switchs. D.D. Crow is for those graveyard reliant decks. Mystical Space Typhoon, Giant Trunade and RFADD all get sided in against Macro variants of what ever, monarchs normally but I've seen some odd macro variants in the past. As I said early I have no idea what I really need to side against, the battle phase nulifiers are for swaming decks, you can really love that extra turn. Vortex is something I think might need moved to the main, but hopefully that extra turn from WabaRoar will let me clear there side with a vortex. There so have something I'll be trying to use for a while. This is probably the most detailed Rate my Deck topic ever on this place, so I hope you can provide some useful insight. Expelsword
3 Divine Wrath is way too many... also wrong section?
Cyberdog
It seems it is the wrong section. Would someone with the power kindly move it. To you have any reasoning as to why 3 divine wrath is too many. Blank statements don't sit well with me, I like to make informed decisions. Expelsword
You should have a mix, not to mention Wraths are -1s Divine WrathSolemn JudgementDark Bribe has far more use thanDivine WrathDivine WrathDivine Wrath
Cyberdog
The way I see it that lowers the consitency of getting which one I want when I want it. Solemn Judgement does indeed have more use and could easily replace Divine Wrath so I'll drop one for it. But I don't think Dark Bribe warrants lowering my chances of Divine Wrath, it too is a -1 in my eyes.
Cypress
As the above states you'd like nonblank statements with good reasoning, I will do so: -1 Jinzo+1 Cyber Dragon Reason: With 7 Traps in the Deck, if ever you use Jinzo, theres always the problem of complications with being able to activate your Traps. Jinzo is normally scarcely used in Decks with more than ~4 Traps in that Deck. As Cyber Dragon is Semi-Limited, it is "custom" to run a card to it's maximum number, which happens to be 2. With the rise of Gadget variant Decks, the use of Cyber Dragon increases substantially. -2 Cyber Pheonix+1 Mystical Space Typhoon (from the Side)+1 Dust Tornado Reason: A majority of Spells and Traps directed to only 1 Monster you control are not run, instead your opponent would be using cards that DO NOT target to get around cards like this, making this card less usefull. Because your Deck relies greatly on Normal Summons, it'd be a waste if your hard-earned Monster line-up gets destroyed by a Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force, etc. Because of this, you need to have a sturdy Spell and Trap destruction line-up. MST and Dust Tornado are perfect ways to do this. -1 Snipe Hunter-1 D.D. Crow +2 Solidarity Reason: With the over so powerful Solidarity, you want to run slim to none non Machine Monsters, in this build. The above two cards conflict with this. Solidarity is used because of its beefing up your puny little Gadgets that may just be destroyed the next turn by an opponents monster. -1 Overload Fusion +1 Royal Oppression Reason: Personally preferenced, I do not like Overload Fusion/Chimeratech Overdragon. It removes Needed monsters for the effects of your Scrap Recycler and the boost of Solidarity. Royal Oppression, on the other hand, is a fine tech that stops Special Summoning, seeing as Special Summoning is more common for meta players to do. Id only recommend 1 Oppression over 2 seeing as you do a bit of Special Summoning as well. -3 Hammer Shot +2 Dimensional Prison+1 Solemn Judgment Reason: Hammer Shot, even though having a seemingly good effect, can be a real hastle when you have the top Monster at that point, rendering Hammer Shot useless. Either way, the Fissures and Smashing should do just enough for Monster Destruction I suggest Dimensional Prison because it is a good card at removing from play, as well as keeping your mosnters alive. Solemn should be added because of it being a staple and nothing more. It is just too good at stopping near anything you dont like. -1 Card Destruction-1 Divine Wrath Reason: Even for Gadgets, runing cards closer to the 40 Deck minimum is better because of the higher chances of getting cards you need at the right time. 3 Divine wrath might be pushing it a bit too much as they might just be getting destroyed in the end by your Spell and Trap Effects. Card Destruction doesn't fit the deck seeing as it could very well break the chain of number of Gadgets in your hand at a time. These Changes should help, possibly. I understand that you might not have all the cards needed, and im sorry for that. Take care and good luck with thhe deck building and your future yugioh....future. Dr. Cakey
I agree with Cypress on almost everything. Now, I should preface this by saying I have very little experience with Gadgets. I can't say exactly what you should take out for these at a glance, but just consider these: 1. Pot of Avarice - You have lots of deck-thinning, but very little draw-power. I'm a big fan of Pot of Avarice, and Gadgets can get monsters into the Graveyard pretty quickly. I might neg a Scrap Recycler for it, since I don't really like it, though I also haven't really tried using it much. 2. Keep Overload Fusion OR replace it with Future Fusion. Just my thoughts, you know what Overdragon can do, right? 3. Bottomless Trap Hole. Maybe replace one of the Divine Wraths? 4. Some defensive cards to consider would be My Body as a Shield and Starlight Road. You probably only want one, not both. 5. In your Side Deck, you should slip in the second Royal Oppression. You can neg a Mask of Restrict for it - you won't be needing that very often. 6. I don't think you can summon Dark End Dragon unless you steal its Synchro Materials. Try Red Dragon Archfiend andor Colossal Fighter, instead. Normally I'd say use Drill over Road, but I think the way your deck is set up, getting a Level 6 with a Level 3 Tuner is tricky. If you agree, you can also think about Ancient Fairy Dragon. It won't be useful very often, I'll admit, but you might want to pull it out. While we're on the subject of the Five Dragons, you could round it out with Black-winged Dragon, too, and round out the Dragon toolbox.
Cyberdog
I always have terrible luck with 9 gadgets in 40 decks. I once got 6 in my first hand, and they weren't even together before I started shuffling. I'd prefer to keep it sitting at 45. I didn't notice Cyber Dragon was at 2 these days, thats easily recified. If I run 2 Cyber Dragon that makes the random Overload less of a dead draw more often. I could use Future Fusion for the deck thinning. Solidarity is a nice thought, but you are getting rid of all(most) my outlets for dead-gadgets. It might be worth finding a new method of dumping the dead weight. Overload might remove some monsters that I'd like to be in the grave, but when it wins the game...I don't even need to remove that many machines, I could easily leave 1/2 gadgets in the grave. The same logic applies to the boost from solidarity, I can keep a single machine in the grave if I need to the boost. Gadgets are rarely have the strongest most on the field, thats why Hammer Shot was included with a boost from Solidarity that may change so I'll give it a go. I agree Card Destruction is a bit of a filler. Lets see what drawing cards I have 3 x Scrap Recycler3 x Cyber Valley2 x Cyber Phoneix1 x Card TrooperThats 9 if my maths is correct. Pot of Avarice conflicts with Scrap Recycler and Overload, Recyclers effect needs 1 less return to draw the same number of cards, though it is more restrictive in what I can return.2. Why? I like reasoning before I consider something. No I can't summon Dark End, or Light End actually. I'll replace those two with the ones you suggested.
Expelsword
Run less than 9 Gadgets and Mahina Fortress instead then... (stupid card shouldn't have been printed...)
Dr. Cakey
Bottomless Trap Hole is a great card - what can I really say? It doesn't have the cons of Torrential Tribute, though it does only kill one monster. Its removal ability is a plus, too. My Body as a Shield and Starlight Road are both defensive cards for countering destruction effects. My personal counter line-up is Solemn, Divine Wrath, and MBaaS. Starlight is favored because of its +1-ness, seeing as it easily beats out conventional weapons like Lightning Vortex and Heavy Storm - and then it gives a free Stardust Dragon that can be activated once. MBaaS is +0 negation - and Quick-play, which is so very useful - that protects only monsters, but doesn't require destruction of 2+ cards like SLR. Mask of Restrict is mostly useless, since most decks have at most 1 or 2 cards that require Tributes. Just about every deck has lots of Special Summons - Royal Oppression is THE anti-Meta card - it's so powerful, meta decks main it anyway, just to cripple the opponent. EDIT: Let me talk about that a little more, since you say you've seen lots of Monarchs. Monarchs are not used very much - widely used decks currently include Machina Gadgets, Quickdraw Plants/Quickdraw.deck/Quickdraw Dandywarriors, Infernities, and X-Sabers. Ah, and Frogs, too. Overall, VERY little Tributing, LOTS of Synchros.
Cypress
okay, so now with the new problems and preferences for yourself, id suggest this basic outline, with added techs and add remove cards as needed: 2 green2 Red 2 Yellow2 Cyber Dragon2 Scrap Recycler1 Card Trooper 1 Overload1 Limiter Removal1 Brain Control 1 Mind Control1 Heavy Storm1 MST3 Fissure3 Smashing'2 Solidarity 1 Torential1 Call of the Haunted1 Mirror Force2 Bottomless Trap Hole2 Dimensional Prison1 Royal Oppression1 Dust Tornado1 Solemn Judgment1 Divine Wrath this is 36 right now so of course its not complete, but i STRONGLY dissagree if you try to make it above 43 cards. Scatty
You have enough monsters. I would get rid of that Jinzo for a Shield Crush. Also, it seems you completely lack a Mystical Space Typhoon, so I would consider replacing a Divine Wrath with one. As for the Card Destruction, keep it, it may be useful. mitchermitcher
+ 1 Modius the Frost Monarch- 1 Jinso chances are, you'll probably drawn Jinzo when you already got Mirror Force, or you've summoned Jinzo, then on the next draw, you got a useful trap card and no way to get rid of him. also, Mobius has decent stats, plus his effect can disrupt your opponent's strategy, or get rid of Sakuretsu Armor or the alike before you go for the win. Cyberdog
So with all of your suggestions in mind, except ones without reasoning. [2] Red Gadget[2] Yellow Gadget[2] Green Gadget[2] Scrap Recycler[2] Machina Gearframe[2] Cyber Dragon[2] Cyber Valley[2] Road Synchron[2] Machina Fortress[1] Card Trooper[1] Drillroid[1] Machina Solider=21 Unsure about Drillroid and the Machina Line-up. They are more targets for Scrap Recycler and are quite useful here and there. Sniper being the least useful of them, perhaps a PeaceKeeper for a little searching, or another Fortress in its place, it does conflict a bit with Royal Oppression but I don't predict they will be staying around too long with removal floating around. [2] Smashing Ground[2] Fissure[2] Solidarity[1] Giant Trunade[1] Heavy Storm[1] Brain Control[1] Limiter Removal[1] Overload Fusion[1] Lightning Vortex[1] Mystical Space Tyhpoon=13 [2] Bottomless Traphole[2] Dimensional Prison[1] Torrential Tribute[1] Call of the Haunted[1] Mirror Force[1] Royal Oppression=8 = 42 Side Deck[2] Royal Oppression[1] Mask of Restrict[1] Return From a Different Dimension=4Again, I'm not sure what to I need to side against. Royal Oppression is obvious stuff, Mask of Restrict I've covered and RFDD for Macro based decks but what else should I side. Extra[1] Stardust Dragon[1] Thought Ruler Archfiend[1] Chimeratech Fortress[1] Chimeratech Overdragon[1] Brionic, Dragon of the Ice Barrier[1] Goyo Guardian[1] Black Rose Dragon[1] Flamvell Uruquizas[1] Ally of Justice Catasor[1] Armory Arm[1] Road Warrior[1] Magical Android[1] Mist Wurm[1] Red Dragon Archfiend= 14Suggestions for a filler here?
