According to the Bible, gay is not okay.

You go on with your "opinion". And I'll remain here with my opinion of people who enter debates, state a stance that defies all scientific evidence without any support whatsoever, and then acts like "it's my opinion" is the perfect counterargument to everything - especially when the subject is a purely factual one rather than one in which subjective opinions are even relevant.

(My opinion of those people isn't very positive.)

An opinion is an opinion, but there is no rule that says an opinion cannot be proved incorrect or blatantly stupid.

As I've said before; if you don't want to believe Wikipedia, don't believe any of the sources they've cited either. Don't trust Google, since Wikipedia comes up in Google's search results. In fact, make up your own theory on everything, don't give it to Wikipedia, and follow that for the rest of your life.

@ Crab: Gravity is false, anyways. I threw a tennis ball up in the air, one day, and it never came down. Granted it could have came down somewhere else and I didn't see it, but the main point is that I never saw it come down. And as such, I will falsely assume that it went up and up and up forever.

or removing our fingers from our ears

I'm pretty sure we don't need ears to read poasts on a forum, but I get what you are saying. But in the context you stated it in, "removing our hands from our eyes" would have sounded better to fit the scenario.

This isnt a debate' date=' its sick and homophobic, please dont bring your religios hatred to YCM because a real forum wont listen to you, and on that note im out.

[/quote']

Yes, it is a debate. You have two sides arguing whether homosexuality is morally correct or not. Or whatever the topic is atm; it changes too damn often.

Err... the topic is homophobic?

Religious hatred? Are you an idiot? It states explicitly in the Bible that homosexuality for males is a sin. And no one is talking about religion anymore, since it's outdated and bullshit anyways.

This is a real forum, you idiot.

Thank you for your wonderful post, free of grammatical and spelling errors. =)

There are actually several different debates going on regarding the subject of homosexuality:

-Is it a choice?

-Is it wrong?

-Should they be allowed to marry?

-Should they be allowed to adopt kids?

-Should we be expected to tolerate coexisting with them?

-Should we treat them like everyone else?

-Do we have to treat them like people?

-Should we listen to what the Bible says about them?

-Should we listen to the Bible at all?

There are obvious answers to some of those, and not as obvious answers supported by scientific evidence and logical thinking. Whether or not you want to hear the answer depends on your own personal discretion.

Those are my answers, and strangely they are fairly similar to Cakey's. D':

-Should we be expected to tolerate coexisting with them? No.

-Should we treat them like everyone else? Yes

-Do we have to treat them like people? Yes.

-Should we listen to what the Bible says about them? No

-Is it wrong? Yes.

-Should they be allowed to marry? No.

-Should they be allowed to adopt kids? I would advise against it, but it isn't a matter.

-Should we be expected to tolerate coexisting with them? Very yes.

-Should we treat them like everyone else? Very yes.

-Do we have to treat them like people? They're still people; yes.

-Should we listen to what the Bible says about them? Yes, we should.

-Should we listen to the Bible at all? Regardless of what you think of the truth, it is still the truth. Yes. We should.

-Is it a choice?: No. Did you choose to be hetero? Didn't think so.

-Is it wrong? No.

-Should they be allowed to marry? Yes.

-Should they be allowed to adopt kids? Yes.

-Should we be expected to tolerate coexisting with them? We should be expected to tolerate it. I would like everyone to accept it, but that's not likely.

-Should we treat them like everyone else?-The only difference between gay and straight is if you prefer men or women respectively, or vice versa if you're a girl. Of course.

-Do we have to treat them like people? Well, are they people? That about answers your question.

-Should we listen to what the Bible says about them? No.

-Should we listen to the Bible at all? I could care less about what you think of the Bible. I'm apatheist. I don't give a crap.

I'll be honest, I'm a bisexual Christian. I've been met with a lot of predjudice at my church. The way I see it. Homosexuality is against the Christian faith, but i don't see it as a choice, and if I did, I'd still choose to be bisexual, if not gay. And besides, God's character is one of love and forgiveness. As such, weather or not he approves of my sexuality. he accepts it and forgives me for it

The last question was asking whether we should consult the Bible on other topics, such as abortion, religious tolerance, et cetera. And the obvious answer is no, unless you are a Southern-Republican-Christian, and even then you aren't that dumb.

Regardless of what you think of the truth, it is still the truth. Yes. We should.

Regardless of what you think is the truth, it is false. The Bible should not be consulted for any issue that regards anything non-religious; that being said, we should not use it for any governmental purpose at all. Otherwise every non-Christian would be exiled or hanged, with atheists being burned instead of hanged.

I can't help but saying this but Max C. comes across as the kind of person who would beat the gayness out of his children if they were gay.

That being said, its sad that their is a politcal party that uses the bible for wisdom when the seperation of church and state is a part of the constution.

You can listen to the bible if you want' date=' you can ignore it if you don't. I could care less. I base my points on important issues off of logic, not a book or pure hatred of it.

[/quote']

That's the point I was making, though. A religious book serves no purpose in a secular country, and because of aforementioned seperation, it should not be used in governmental issues.

Although every argument I've seen against gay marriage (not adoption, but even the non-religious arguments are stupid) spawns from some sort of Bible passage or religious teaching.

There were a flock of preachers from some religion that went to Uganda and attempted to institute laws that put homosexuals to death.

Like I said, was it a choice for you to be heterosexual?

Heterosexual has more letters in it, meaning God likes it more. Because homo has two less letters than hetero, God does not approve of it.

I don't need logic; I just need religion.

So? Don't treat like it's something that needs to be overcome. It's really a part of the person, like the color of their skin or their gender. Racism, sexism, heck, even ageism are seen as issues, yet homophobia is accepted widely.

Another point: The de-feralization of dogs was over thousands of years of training and breeding. The average human lives to be about 80. I don't think those psychological urges will be stopped in 80 years.

I hear people say to those against homosexuality "If it's a choice, can you choose to become attracted to a person of the same sex?", which they answer to by saying heterosexuality isn't a choice. I've got question for those people: "How do you know it's not a choice? You're heterosexual, of course you'd try to make everyone else think it's not so you can fit in." And when they respond with scientific evidence and further proof, I will disregard everything they say and try to change the subject without acknowledging my defeat.

Of course, that doesn't make too much sense from the start. Insisting homosexuality is a choice means that you believe all gay people were at some point straight and chose to become attracted to others of the same gender. That should mean they can do the exact same thing. Can any of you men (or boys) make yourself sexually attracted to Seth Rogen or Steve Carell? A world where everyone can choose who they're sexually attracted to sounds entirely fictional.

Dogs prove you wrong. They used to be wild and untamed but we have supressed their psychological urges which caused them to be wild and untamed.

This is proof that psychological urges can be overcome.

what in the hell ae you talking about? They're still wild and untamed. Why do you think we have leash laws on dogs? they just cower to you because you feed them and they are UNTRAINED. Dogs are like men. They are very wild at first but if you spoil them enough they will obey every order. You cannot spoil a gay enough to be straight. If we have supressed their wildness then please do tell me why we still have wolves in the wild as killers and not pets. And please tell what idiot thought "I'm going to tame this animal as my pet" That's like saying "I'm going to marry Charles Manson and take him to daycare with the kids"

-Is it a choice? Yes. (care to prove it)

-Is it wrong? Yes. (Everyone should like the exact same thing as eachother.)

-Should they be allowed to marry? No. (right only straight people deserve to be happy)

-Should they be allowed to adopt kids? I would advise against it' date=' but it isn't a matter. ( 2 adults taking care of kids isn't out of the ordinary you know)

-Should we be expected to tolerate coexisting with them? Very yes. (you shouldn't need to feel as if you need to "tolerate" them)

-Should we treat them like everyone else? Very yes. (agreed)

-Do we have to treat them like people? They're still people; yes. (agreed)

-Should we listen to what the Bible says about them? Yes, we should. ( no we shouldn't, are you telling me that you never do anything against the bible, cause if you follow one thing you follow it all)

-Should we listen to the Bible at all? Regardless of what you think of the truth, it is still the truth. Yes. We should. (You can be open to theories, however people shouldn't need to feel as if they have to or else they'll perish for ever, religion shouldn't be a scare tactic)

that's the type of christian i can't stand, though granted you aren't as bad as alot of people i know, ignorant ones that think, right i believe this and i wont be open to any forms of discussion that may prove me wrong. At the end of the day they're people, and if anyone actually knew what it takes to be a christian and be "saved" then they'd know that no mater what you do as long as you believe your "saved".

It's Christians like you that believe that you can dictate what people feel. Gays pay taxes let them marry. You call yourself a good Christian and you say that the gays will burn in hell. The bible also says "love thy neighbor" "Do not judge others as god will judge you equally as you judge them" So you condeming the gays using the bible. you've guarnenteed yourself to burn in hell. the bible isn't the truth. nothing in there can be proven. God also says don't wear clothing made of more than one seed but we're drilling that. God also loves ALL his children. He says that himself.

The bolded is what I love.

God says no incest. How are we here? incest is the answer. King Solomon had multiple wives. Mary is said to be a virgin but Jesus popped that cherry. God gave a man a kitchen condoment as a wife. So you say we should take everything in the bible literally?

Blond hair can be overcome with black paint. All blond-haired people should walk around with black paint in their hair.

Agreed.

Dogs are a bad analogy' date=' not only because you look like you're comparing gay people to dogs. Debate 101: Don't do that.

Additionally, dogs - even wild dogs and wolves - are social animals. It's true that thousands of years of selective breeding have encouraged the species to become more docile, less murderous, and given them a variety of creepy hairstyles, but not much less. To analogize back to gays (and I imagine Max C. would be very insulted to find his puppy compared to a [i']gay[/i]), it's as if thousands of years of selective breeding by members of the Christian Identity Movement created a breed of gay people attracted solely to people of the same gender - and WITH RED HAIR!!!!!! Dun dun dun!!!!!!

Crab Helmet has won this topic multiple times. This remains solely for its entertainment value - but don't lock it, mods. This is much too good.
