According to the Bible, gay is not okay.

It's simply a matter of belief. According to the bible and to the Christian community' date=' being a homosexual isn't the right thing. But I believe that it isn't being handled correctly on any side. Those that are for homosexuality are strongly opinionated and are very angry when they are given exactly what they want.

[b']Do you remember the Beauty Pageant where the woman didn't approve of homosexuality? Perez Hilton liked her when he asked the question, but after her comment, posted a video all about how stupid she is. He didn't even mention the homosexuality comment![/b]

But Christians and anti-homosexuals are also looking at the homosexuals like they have a disease.

I, personally, (and I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate over this), find that being a homosexual isn't okay. Either keep it to yourself and let the Lord handle things how he chooses, or don't do it at all. Marriage and Love are meant to be between a man and a woman. That's why God created Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Brody.

While both sides can take things too far, there's a difference between saying "You're a douche, so I'm not going to like you," and saying "Who you are disqualifies you from being like everyone else, and I will treat you as such."

Yeah, it's those homosexuals' fault. After all, they started it by being homosexual. And then when you give them gay marriage and total equality (which hasn't actually happened, but let's pretend), they get mad at you for it (which also hasn't actually happened, but it seems like a perfectly logical consequence, since homosexuals only exist to antagonize Christians).

And yes, of course those who support Not Oppressing People are going to be strongly opinionated. You may as well dismiss the abolitionists who opposed slavery as being strongly opinionated and intolerant of the slave-owners.

I' date=' personally, (and I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate over this), find that being a homosexual isn't okay.

It's like this chap is psychic or something. But I'm sure that predicting that your arbitrarily hateful stance toward innocent human beings will not produce a positive response automatically makes everything better.

Either keep it to yourself

Yeah' date=' keep it to yourself. you second-class citizens don't have the right to be yourselves in public.

and let the Lord handle things how he chooses,

God is a well-known opponent of love. Jesus said it best: "Sit back and ignore everyone. They suck anyhow."

or don't do it at all.

Oh' date=' and lefties, be sure to only use your right hand for everything. And those of you with blond hair, get some hair dye. Everyone needs to be just like me.

God created Adam first. Therefore, it follows logically that being male is the proper state of things, so all women should pretend to be men so that they can fit in with the superior people. Sure, God later went and created Eve, but the existence of homosexuals proves that God created them too at some point, so both women and homosexuals are just secondary creations later down the line; Adam was the first, and as you have made clear, everybody should be just like whoever came first.

It is thus clear that, in order to be in accordance with God's Divine Will, all women should become transsexuals.

Agree.

Survivor-san, I know you're trying to be original with the whole "Adam and Brody" comment, but it's "Adam and Steve". The Republicans are way ahead of you. (c u get it cuz steve sondz liek eve k)

Also, Survivor-chan, you have what we call in the biz an "indefensible position". Unfortunately, while I am an unstoppable force, your Bible is an immovable object, so you can wave the Bible around as evidence - while I continue my crusade to ensure the Bible is followed and fair prices are set for children sold into slavery.

Um...okay then. All that I'm expressing are MY VIEWS. Personally, I don't enjoy the fact of people being homosexual. THAT'S IT! And yes, I wasn't trying to be original with the Adam & Brody comment. I had heard it somewhere before and was simply recalling it.

Actually, marriage is simply a relationship, and deals more with the government than it does with actual emotion or religion. If two men want to get married, they should be able to. Love is an emotion, and I'm pretty sure God can't control my emotions. And if he can, the next time I get warned for flaming, I will raeg and say that Jesus God Christ forced me to flame idiots on this forum, and as such it was not my fault, and thus the Intentional Flaming warn should be nullfied.

And just to hammer this in a third time, it's Adam and Steve. Since, y'know, you add a St to Eve.

Wait a minute... aren't all of the saints male? Meaning that Steve - broken apart being St. Eve - is actually a male named Eve?

Don't give me this "It's my opinion so everything's okay!" nonsense. Every hate group that arbitrarily despises a random segment of the population is just expressing "their views". When racists hate blacks, they're just expressing their views. When misogynists hate women, they're just expressing their views. Whenever any of you scumbags chooses a target to hate, you gits always fall behind the "It's just my opinion" shield, as if that somehow makes it something more than the despicable hate that it is.

Very original, this is what I say whenever someone says they are expressing there views, "Okay, you've expressed yours so now you get to hear mine." That little comment doesn't get you off the hook for being an idiot with backward views. You are wrong it is that simple. You are without any logical reason behind you so you are wrong. I am so sick of this liberal, PC foolishness that says you have to respect all points of view no matter how boneheaded.

Personally' date=' I don't enjoy the fact of people being homosexual.[/quote']

Oh, you don't enjoy it, I see. Well, I and the rest of the civilized world don't enjoy the idea of Bronze Age thinking like this being in people's minds. So, what are you going to do to the wicked gays? I would love to know what the solution to the homosexual "problem" is.

Secondly, I have to say this, people being gay doesn't affect you! They don't care about you. No one is going to force you to be gay. Why do you care? Nobody is trying to steal your rights. You are trying to steal their rights. How can you not see that you are the villain here?

It's not that I don't like gay people. I just don't find it acceptable. I'm not saying that it should be changed or not. Yet somehow, everyone who believes that homosexuality is okay, has to come down on me because I don't find it acceptable.

I don't think that it's fair that I'm simply stating my beliefs and you have to pull the race card by saying that the racists and slave owners were expressing their beliefs. I'm not out there hunting queers! I'm saying on a forum that I don't approve of homosexuality, and everyone else here has decided to act negatively towards me because of that. It would be so much easier if you could at least respect my beliefs. You don't have to accept them. This is how I was raised and that's simply my opinion on homosexuality.

And I'm not going to take any crap from anyone because of it. And don't call me a frickin villain. I'm simply expressing, yes, "MY VIEWS" on homosexuality. But of course, like everyone that supports it, you have to go and make a God Damn showcase about it all and be rude. I'm just stating my opinion. That is, what you say, one of my rights!

Stop right there, sir, for you have stumbled across a very important point. You oppose homosexuality, so you assume that everyone who does not oppose homosexuality supports it. However, you will find that this is not the case.

I do not support homosexuality.

I also do not support bisexuality, heterosexuality, left-handedness, right-handedness, being white, being black, being Asian, being male, being female, being black-haired, being tall, or being green-eyed.

To me, none of these are traits that require support. They are not inherently virtuous. They are also not inherently evil. They're just arbitrary traits. Some people are straight, some are gay, some are green-eyed, and some are brown-eyed. I don't particularly care. There's nothing good about them to support. There's nothing bad about them to oppose.

What I do support, however, is the ability of people to be female homosexual left-handed black-haired brown-eyed Asians, or any other permutation of any other arbitrary list of such traits you care to name, without suffering hatred for it.

In other words, I support not homosexuality but the freedom to be homosexual without being victimized by prejudice.

You oppose homosexuality. You see it as Teh Evulz because you have become convinced that an allegedly-loving deity told you to hate an arbitrary group of people for having a specific orientation, even though that orientation is in no way harmful to anyone. And so, when you see people ridiculing your opposition, you assume that they support that orientation in the same way that they oppose it.

Mr. Survivor, I do not support homosexuality.

I do not oppose homosexuality.

I oppose you.

I oppose the hate you hold and the hate that you stand for.

That is why you are called a villain.

That is why you are a villain.

you have to go and make a God Damn showcase about it all and be rude. I'm just stating my opinion. That is' date=' what you say, one of my rights!

Actually, I believe you'll find that the constitutional right to the freedom of speech only restricts the right of government to pass laws abridging that freedom; it says nothing about the ability of private organizations like the YCM forums to restrict their content.

However, there is a much more fundamental flaw in your claim here. Sure, you have a freedom of speech. But nobody's infringing on that here. Your posts haven't been deleted. Your account hasn't been banned. You're not being blocked or censored.

All that's happening is that we're expressing our disagreement with you and our disgust for your primitive hatred.

If you just have a problem with all people in general getting sexual on you, limit it to all people, not just those of a different sexual preference. (Familiar sounding...)

Hmmmmmm... If there's anything we've learned from anime and manga (and other media), isn't it that people can be generally okay while still having a somewhat negative view of someone else? Doesn't necessarily make them evil, just not as caring/accepting as you hoped they'd be. And he's kind of right, he is allowed to express his views on the subject, no matter how primitive and backwards they might seem to us, and he can be neutrally unsupportive of it as long as he wants. That's his opinion, we think it's lame, we agree to disagree. No need to start getting too aggressive. We should save the passion for the most hateful of the unaccepting/intolerant.

Would you describe racists as merely being not quite as caring/accepting as one would hope? Or sexists? Or any other similar group? As far as I am concerned, this sort of mindless hatred is absolutely nothing but evil.

My view of morality is fairly straightforward. I don't decide whether something is good or evil based on what some old book said. Instead, I see things like this: things that help people are good and things that harm people are evil. That isn't that complex.

You'll find that anything like racism or homophobia falls cleanly into the category of evil by my definition. And I would further posit that any definition of good and evil that fails to sort them in that manner is incorrect.

And he's kind of right' date=' he is allowed to express his views on the subject,

You just quoted the part of my post where I explicitly explained how criticizing his backward and hateful ideas was in no way the same thing as preventing him from expressing his backward and hateful views - and, indeed, was the only reasonable consequence of and response to his expression of his backward and hateful views - and yet you still don't seem to get it, since you're still calling me out on not allowing him to express his backward and hateful views. Seriously, can't you read?

What, is there some You Can Only Criticize This Many Homophobes Per Year limit I didn't hear about? And how low do your standards have to be to get you to say that we should sit back and not respond to homophobia because at least it might not be as bad as some other homophobia in some other place? "Yup, that guy sure hates Jews, but at least he's not as bad as Hitler, so everything's A-OK, right?"

Yes, these ignorant people can spout there ignorant views, and hide behind the first amendment. That doesn't mean that I can't go behind that same right and let my views be expressed. Freedom of Speech and Press doesn't mean that you can say any idea you want without it being criticized by others and those very same say what they believe in debate/argument with that person. It means, in fact, the opposite. We have as much right to check him on his idiocy as he as to fight back. This is a DEBATE thread. If he didn't want to be fought he should've never posted. The last sentence of your post was possibly the most troubling. There isn't a level of "intolerance" that we should see. What are you saying? Are suggesting we measure their opinions on some scale!? All forms, levels, and amounts of hate should be met, and not just the "really bad ones."

Holy Hell...I am not influenced by God to believe that homosexuals are bad. I became a Christian after my views about homosexuality were expressed. And don't go ahead and compare it to being African-American, Left-Handed, or a Woman.

That is a PHYSICAL distinction. Being Gay is either a genetic trait or a decision. It's their decision. And no, I'm not a villain because I oppose homosexuality, and if you're going to start making a case about those that "hide behind the 1st amendment," I have to say to you that I'm not hiding. It's simply a matter of opinion, as DEBATES are.

For some reason, you decide that because a person doesn't find homosexuality acceptable that you have to go and dislike everything that they say, no matter what they're saying. I say that it's my opinion and I mean it. It's nothing more than an opinion coming from one person, and yet you have to throw some God Damn Hate-fest because I don't think that some man needs to shove his penis up another man's ass.

I'm tired of people like you, who hate a person over their beliefs. It isn't against the law, and according to the Bible GAY IS NOT OKAY! If you're gay, then just be cool about it. I'm tired of people like Perez Hilton and other homosexual "icons" flaunting themselves and hating on other people because they don't support their views.

I'm straight. I think that that people should be straight. Flat out. And no, that belief does not make me a villain, DUMBASS! funk YOU! It makes me a citizen of the United States who is expressing his views on homosexuality on a Forum filled with FAT, UGLY, NERDY, LOSERS WITHOUT DATES. SO SCREW ALL OF YOU!

I'm tired of dealing with all of you jabroni-lovers. I have gay friends. I don't believe that they should be gay, but you know what, I'm not sorry for saying all of this. You people are annoying as all hell and I'm done with dealing with you. And in addition, you can negative rep me all that you want or report me or whatever. I don't give a damn. I'm tired of dealing with you people. I tried to express an opinion and I get sheet on because you all can't stand people that oppose your SPECIAL views.

You can't stand that fact that someone opposes someone for being different. So just funk all of you, I don't care what you say, and have a damn great time wasting your time away on this retarded internet forum. OH WAIT! Now you're going to criticize me for using the word retarded too...Whatever.

You have gay friends and believe that they are wrong for who they are. Wow, you're an incredible friend!

Don't get my wrong, maybe you are, but in that regard, you fail very much.

Good friends don't judge their friends and oppose who they are. Good friends don't oppose the collective who they are part of, a collective that fights for their rights. Good friends don't think their friends are wrong for something that has not harmed anyone, just because you would like that your friend was x-way better.

This may be an Internet debate, but it also is a life issue.

Can a friend of yours rely on you to fight for him/her in a regard of this matter?

Or must your friend just accept that you would not and also accept your hatred towards who he/she is?

Would you protect your friend from bullies?

Would you give your blessings to your friend if he/she was to marry in a gay couple, even if you don't think it's OK?

Would you fight for his/her right to marry if it wasn't allowed yet?

Think of it. I would like to see the roles switched.

I'm going to take a crack at a Crab Helmet post. I would like the master himself to correct any errors I have made in my responses to this guy.

Holy Hell...I am not influenced by God to believe that homosexuals are bad. I became a Christian after my views about homosexuality were expressed. And don't go ahead and compare it to being African-American' date=' Left-Handed, or a Woman.

[b']But it's really the same thing. Homophobia is comparable to racism, sexism, and handedism. You don't like a certain group for absolutely no valid reason, just like people don't like blacks or womens or left-handed people for absolutely no reason. You are one in the same people, only your hatred is for different people. Don't tell me not to compare you when you really are the same.[/b]

I understand that it's your opinion, but your opinion is ridden with hate and idiocy. Homosexuality is mainly a genetic disease, and has very little to do with the enviornment you grow up in or any sort of choice. But the Bible (or homophobes) don't not like people with other generic diseases. No, you discriminate against homosexuals for some stupid reason. I want to see you discriminate against people with cystic fibrosis, since that is also a genetical disease. And you don't have a choice to have that disease, and you are different from a normal Christian.

It is your opinion, yes, but your opinion is hateful. You know what, I have an opinion. My opinion is that you are a complete moron. The difference between our opinions is that I'm correct while your opinion is invalid.

And newsflash; males shove their penis' up women, but do you consider that immoral?

I'm tired of people like you, who hate a person over their beliefs. It isn't against the law, and according to the Bible GAY IS NOT OKAY! If you're gay, then just be cool about it. I'm tired of people like Perez Hilton and other homosexual "icons" flaunting themselves and hating on other people because they don't support their views.

Heterosexuals "flaunt" themselves by kissing in public.

And yeah, there are many verses in the Bible discriminating against gays (but not lesbians).

I'm straight. I think that that people should be straight. Flat out. And no, that belief does not make me a villain, DUMBASS! f*** YOU! It makes me a citizen of the United States who is expressing his views on homosexuality on a Forum filled with FAT, UGLY, NERDY, LOSERS WITHOUT DATES. SO SCREW ALL OF YOU!

Also, I'm white. I think that all people should be white. Flat out. And no, that belief does not make me a villain. Expletives.

Also, I'm an atheist. I think that all people should not believe in a god. Flat out. And no, that belief does not make me a villain. Expletives.

I'm tired of dealing with all of you f**-lovers. I tried to express an opinion and I get s*** on because you all can't stand people that oppose your SPECIAL views.

Actually, your views are the ones that are "special". You have an illogical hatred towards a group of people.

You can't stand that fact that someone opposes someone for being different. So just f*** all of you, I don't care what you say, and have a damn great time wasting your time away on this retarded internet forum. OH WAIT! Now you're going to criticize me for using the word retarded too...Whatever.

I don't care if someone has an opinion different than me, but it annoys me when they act like complete idiots, have an illogical opinion, have no facts to back up their illogical opinion, and when they refuse to hear the counterarguments.

How'd I do?

Okay, this has to stop. Who cares if you believe being gay is wrong? Does it effect you? So If you believe that gay people will go to hell so be it! Just leave it at that! If someone is gay what the hell does it matter to you? I am Roman Catholic, I'm not gay, but I am no homophobe. But here's what I have to say...

WHY DO YOU CARE? It effects you in NO WAY! Let people who are gay be gay! I'm not saying you have to encourage homosexuality, but for the love of god stop this madness! If I were a mod I'd lock this whole thread! It's stupid! Leave gays be gays and just stop! It doesn't effect you, so get over it.

With that I agree, this cannot generate any useful discussion, but hey, debates hardly are useful discussions.

Also, by the forum's section description, debates should be intelligent discussions, and half of the posts of this thread lack intelligence.
