Probably because you'll be promptly accused of stacking your deck. I doubt it's an official "rule", but come on, who, in a tournament or even non-tournament setting will NOT challenge that?

there is way. I know someone who pulled this off. her game went like this.

 

Opppnent's turn- plays Dark World Dealings and discards Golld Wu Lord of the Dark World. Special Summons Golld. Normal Summons Bistro Butcher. plays Double Summon and another Butcher. attacks. *she draws 4 more cards*

 

she completes Exodia right then and there.

But what if he inflicts 8000 damage at once?

If he deals 8000 points of damage at once (assuming you're at 8000), your LP is 0. You lose.

If you have even 1 LP left, you can summon Gorz. Afterwards, they take the same damage you did.

I did that once at a lolocals. My opp's face was like :O and everyone dueling around me was like OMFG LOL!
