A simple rule change that can save a lot of grief.

The first part already takes care of the same-name problem, so what's the "only when a player can see the card" bit supposed to do? All that does is shut down effects like that of Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon, which seems rather pointless.

And yes, the notion that cards can have effects outside of duels is an absurd one.

When I first thought it up, it was to prevent nonsense like "lol automatic game loss j00 have 6 Harpies at the start of the game!" But going back and looking at it, it's unnecessary. So stricken.

Really, what were they thinking when they pulled the "this card's name is treated as X" applying during DECK CONSTRUCTION?

I mean, it makes more sense than naming two cards literally the same thing, but...why did they want the cards to have the same name during deck construction?

They made Cyber Harpie, the Harpie Lady Trio, and Harpie Lady itself all have the same name. So all Harpie decks' potential got screwed over. They could have been an interesting decktype. Least with Harpie Queen they did the name thing right.
