Best Anti-Xsaber ??

Recommended Posts

Meh' date=' [b']it still doesn't make it broken[/b]. Goblin Zombie and Stratos can both do that if they keep coming back. Again the problem is likely what ever card that kept bring him back.

srsly ?

If it was broken then Goblin Zombie and Stratos would be too since they have 2 things over him, the get the card right a way and both can be used to attack, Stratos making for a good beatstick.

Flame Dragon, it's my personal opinion that Darksoul is the main thing that makes X-Sabers fully consistent (having never used them but read a ton of Feature Matches). Try comparing an X-Saber deck with and without Darksoul, and see how they do. Obviously it's not really broken on its own, but neither is Rescue Cat - if Airbellum didn't exist, it would probably be @ 3.

Making a deck more consistent isn't bad. Goblin Zombie does the same thing. And yea, Cat wouldn't be broken if Airbellum wasn't around, but it exists so we do have a problem. The difference between this and Cat is that their are clearly broken cards at work, mainly Troll and that level 6 synchro.

If Cat, Troll, and the synchro were all banned (for reasons that have nothing to do with this card) then this would be perfectly acceptable.

Empty field. Activate Cold/heavy/trunade. Summon Cat > Air + Air/darksoul. Faultroll. your end

My comment was in regard to countering Gottoms' Emergency Call. Their example wouldn't work. And assuming this comment was on my play I wouldn't have an empty field. I'd have 2 monsters. And really any one could make up different plays.

And nice use of broken cards.

I don't have an X-Saber on the field. I'll call in a judge and request a DQ for cheating.

Ok, fair point. But what if you did? And I wouldn't be DQ for something like that.

DNA Surgery - they can't synch Gottoms anymore. xD

So far, we've mentioned the following:

Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World

Neko Mane King

Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World

D.D. Crow

Gottoms' Emergency Call

Summon Limit

Thunder King Rai-Oh

Royal Oppression

Gemini Imps

XX-Saber Gottoms

Big Burn

Tualatin

DNA Surgery

Let's stop for a minute and figure out what the best counter to sabers is, as opposed to just listing them. As you can see, this list is slowly getting long.

Some of these things only stop an element of the deck. Goldd, Neko Mane King, Reign-Beaux, Summon Limit and Gemini Imps only seem to stop the loop. Crow only stops the loop and recovery of one of their Darksouls, but stops the loop in an arguably more reliable fashion than Goldd, Neko Mane King and Reign-Beaux, as those have a chance of not triggering until the rest of the hand or a substantial portion of it is gone, while Crow can just stop it before things get out of hand, but you still lose a few cards if the X-Saber player decides to use the remaining X-Sabers to do so.

There was an argument a few posts ago about how Call can get stopped. Yes, a problem with Call is that it is a trap and is as vulnerable as all of said traps. The same problem hits Big Burn, Summon Limit, Royal Oppression and DNA Surgery, but the serious three of these four can backfire on oneself and aren't really all that splashable because of that.

While Tualatin is OKish after it actually comes into play, its summoning requirements are still far too situational.

IMO, the best anti-X-Saber card is one of these:

Rai-Oh

Reign-Beaux

Neko Mane King

Call

Of these, I prefer Rai-Oh and Neko Mane King, as they're the least counterable and most splashable of them.

You are aware that most decks are maining at least 1 Oppression, right?

It is the most. Reliable. Way. To stop. Anything.

For God's sake, the X-Sabers you're so afraid are ALSO maining Oppression!

They can easily play around Rai-Oh with Brain/ Mind/ saber Slash/ etc ..,

They may use cold/trunade/heavy before they start the loop, so Call is not good enough sometimes

and Neko mane is bad because they usualy do the hand emptying loop after attacking

So in my opinon Beaux IS the best counter to them, punishes them so hard
