Expelsword
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki//Assault_Modes If you take a look at the support they actually have, it seems like Konami WANTED these to be OTK monsters...but no one uses it. Discuss the /Assault Modes; with the release of Accel and Double Tuning, is this hardly archetype dead?
Sephiroth_The_Legend
Stardust is the only good one and even then, i'd rather use normal stardust dragon. its faster.
darkwolf777
Only one I found worth using is SD/AM, not that i've tried any others, but their effects weren't interesting enough for me to make decks for x.o; Also, SD/AM is not made to OTK either,
Mysty
The only one that's really an OTK is Doomkasier Dragon/Assault Mode. Then again, if you'ere running that, you're probably not running the /Assault Mode support (except for Assault Mode activate, obviously). At least DD/AM is Trade-Inable. Konami should have made more of these and more support. In fact, they should have made one for each of the Signer Dragons. Heck, why not one for each synchro? And, heck, why not make a Synchro that supports the "/Assault Mode" archetype as well as an /Assault Mode for that synchro?

Expelsword
Only one I found worth using is SD/AM, not that i've tried any others, but their effects weren't interesting enough for me to make decks for x.o; Also, SD/AM is not made to OTK either, I'm not talking about the monsters though... /Assault Slash, Revival, and Overload all focus on clearing your opponent out. Also Doomkaiser is a potential OTK
evilfusion
Assault Modes and their support have alarmingly high synergy, but at the same time, are horribly inconsistent. I once built a Stardust Assault deck that tried to make use of the other Assault support, like Assault Revival, etc. IF I could get the combo rolling, it was a cinch to deal about 12000+ damage in one turn. If I couldn't get the combo rolling, I have a lot of dead draws that will be explosive and an easy OTK if I get the right card out, but useless until then. Blackwing-Master
I play Flamvell/AM IRL. Personally, I think there alright, just hard to get out, seeing as you draw into them they're dead and if you can't get AMA (not much of a problem) then you can't summon them. Only good ones are SDD/AM and DD/AM. The support isn't good either really. Some /AM decks run A-Tele, but i find that with it i draw into my /AMs more often. They do need to make more of them and some better support. BDKMRV
There is an OTK for SDD/AM deck.I've done it quite a few times and it's really simple to do, but hard to accomplish lolz. Bring out 2 Stardust Dragon and some other monster(s).Attack with other monsters first to clear field of opponent's monsters.Attack with both Stardust, then play AMA to attack with SDD/AM. 2500+2500+3000 = game But again, it's really hard to do.I think I've done it at least 5 times. metalflygon08
Not every Synchro could've used an /AM What would goyo/AM do? Revive in ATK mode? Would BRD/AM just nuke your opponent's field (or all fields and hnd save BRD/AM) Brionoc/AM would just send all cards back to your opponent's hand. DSF/AM more burn? DARKPLANT RISING
Deathkaiser. Is. The. Only. Good. Thing. Stardust: Crow it and he cries. RDA: Obvious fail.Hyper Psychic: If you can synchro LV 9, there are better options from the start.Others : fail too.

El-Rrey
Stardust, Doomkaiser and Arcanite have some potential! In a dedicated build, we can see that they tend to be very annoying, at least they used to be!The other ones clearly suck.
TechnoDoomedOne
Stardust Assault is almost god. Don't draw into Crow, and you're done for. With another or 2 other Stardusts in play, it's basically game. Doomkaiser is just for a quick otk play, which is good, but fail that time and it's over. Also, it means you have to run Assault Mode Activate in Zombie Decks, and normally zombie decks have no space for more cards. Arcanite is the least good of all the playable ones. His effect is neat, but he needs dedication. The others are pretty much crap. Especially Colossal Fighter Assault.IMO, more Assault Mode support and Assault monsters should have been made. poopybuttoxes
I dont see how assalt modes could be otks at all. Maybe if the opponent only had 5 star and up monsters in his deck haha.
Manjoume Thunder
If AMA's effect was: Tribute 1 Synchro Monster. Special Summon 1 "/Assault Mode" monster whose name includes the Tributed monster's name from your Deck, hand or Graveyard in Attack Position. They would not be so terrible. Now they are forced to run crap like Mallet or their draw card.
Flame Dragon
The way Konami makes archtypes is the release them and some support in a few packs then act like they were never their. Really so many archtypes only get a few packs. This got the short end of the stick and as an archtype fails. Even just as a group of monsters they didn't make enough to be worth while to care about them Stardust and Doomkaiser are the only ones worth caring about

-Griffin
Eh, I kinda like the concept of a really big boss, but I agree with Manjy on the Deck only bit being a pain in the rear. Only one I found worth using is SD/AM, not that i've tried any others, but their effects weren't interesting enough for me to make decks for x.o; Also, SD/AM is not made to OTK either, On an entirely unimportant note, this was Darkwolf's 1000th post, yay Darkwolf =D 1000 posts of helping us get rulings right! -Celebrate rep-
darkwolf777
lol thanks. I probably would've noticed if it wasn't for the new format YCM has, since it stood out more next to the rep count.
