No, the jar is just an ordinary jar. Its the water inside the jar thats different, as its a special kind of water that can drain the soul of who ever comes in contact with it.

5 points to ever gets the reference

Severely broken.

Empty Jar decks are OTK mill decks. They run all three books, the jar, and the needle worm to mill you to death. Those are just the main pieces of the deck, not the entire deck of course.

Morphing Jar isn't broken just because of Empty Jar OTK but also because of the fact it can potentially be a +5 and the fact it is a Flip Effect Monster is no where near enough to balance it.

But your opponent also draws and unless you're against infernities it's hardly ever a +5 and if you were against infernities you probably will have lost before this gets flipped.

Irrelevant. The fact it can be a +5 with a laughable requirement is enough reason for it to be considered banworthy.

If this is so splashable, why do most decks not use it?
sometimes decks can provide their own draw power over this, or they're focused more on field control than hand control and can't find room for this card.

personally I play it in quite a few of my decks.
