Ze Tournament Report

I can't find my Solemn or Mirror Force in the morning and I'm like "f***!" so I just main 2 Magic Drains. Surprisingly they worked pretty well.

Gladiator Beasts v.s. Dragons which are apparently not called Hopeless Dragons because he says they're not even though that's what the deck kinda is

Game 1

He drops Prime Material and REDRUM and I don't have outs (since the gbs are small ygos and can't run over big ygos).

Game 2

Bounce bounce bounce murmillo murmillo murmillo etc.etc. tl;dr he can't get his big ygos on the field and I smash smash smash. Didn't need to side anything.

Game 3

I mean, the guy is kinda bad... This match was kinda boring to be honest. I swoop over this game and he can't get his big ygos out. Compulsory plays are cool.

Gladiator Beasts v.s. Synchro Dog ()

Game 1

I make a Trap Stun -> Secutor play and kill his 3 backrows and Descendant. He does some Firedog shenanigans but I still end up winning by having more ygo cards. He goes Thought Ruler and I topdeck Reborn and Gyzarus it. Pro stuff.

Game 2

He doesn't draw into any of his Flamvells (they're on the bottom of his deck lol). Actually, we both open 5 backrows and I beat a monster he tops with a D-Prison (FV Gurnika). Trap Stun locks him down and I just eat away at his backrows. He basically can't make any kind of push at all and I win.

He was maindecking Chaos Trap Hole.

Gladiator Beasts v.s. Machina Gadgets

Game 1

Open with 4 backrows and Laquari is pretty cool. He can't get his Fortress out and I keep charioting his gadgets. So basically chariot loops for the win. I Magic Drain his Smashing which would have probably turned the game around by a bit.

Game 2

Open with Prisma and Cyber Dragon against Gadgets is pretty slick. Also had Tiger and backrows to support everything. He tries to use my Fortress for his Fortress and I tell him he can't, and everyone around us was like saying how much they've cheated for all this time. lol. I topdeck the nuts this game and savagely win.

Round 4

Gladiator Beasts v.s. Frog Monarchs (The guy I always end up losing to)

Game 1

So I summon Laquari set 5 (D-Prison, Compulsory, MST, Dust, Dust). So, he thinks that all 5 backrows do something. So I have him playing optimally while 3 of my backrows are dead cards. I misplay and go for Herk when I really don't need to, but I end up winning anyway. I show him my backrow after the game and he complains how he could've won that.

Game 2

I pull off a Magic Drain on his Soul Exchange and save my ass. This time my backrows are actually good, and I Chariot everything. There was a point where I could go Equeste and add Chariot from Grave, or go Retiari and remove his Treeborn. I don't want him to get a Monarch out, but I add Chariot. However, afterwards I Monster Reborn his Treeborn and later in the game it does the final 100 damage for the win.

So I top and s***, as usual.

It's funny how I 2-0 the good players and 2-1 the baddish player.

Gladiator Beasts v.s. Frognarchs (The same guy)

Game 1

I have Chariots and stuff, but he has Faders when I don't have Chariots. I Enemy Controller one of his Faders, and he's sitting there thinking for a while, saying he can actually do something pretty funny, and he tells me afterwards. He says he can chain his own E-Con to take control of one of my Glads, but he couldn't capitalize on it enough so he just summons Sangan and passes. Next turn he searches Swap Frog of of Sangan, and then on his move he goes Junk Synchron (without his effect because I have Chariot) and he misplays. He gets Ronintoadin out and Special Summons Swap Frog and Synchros for Black Rose (no effect). We both completely forgot that you can't use Ronin for Synchros and he gets rid of my field presence (I'm realizing this now btw). I topdeck Dark Hole, Gorz, and Reborn but he still wins with Monarch stuff and the Reborn wasn't until he already won.

Oh yeah, and I consecutively drew 3 Test Tigers in a row this game and he reads it, too. Hilarious.

Game 2

We decide with the other guys in top 4 to split the packs evenly between each other and we all get 3 packs. I pull Unibird and my opponent gives his cards to me so I also get Shamanism. The ScR in the pack was Refpanel so whatever.

The empty jar guy was here today. He lost top 8 again. Me and him were the only x-0's today.
