Please explain your reasoning. (NOTE: This is not a hypothetical for an "ideal format". Why should it be banned/not banned THIS FORMAT?) 2) Give your opinion on the card design. Is it inherently balanced? Is it horribly broken? Once again, give an explanation; this does not, however, have to be in correlation with the meta but rather in general, even in your ridiculous fantasy of an "ideal format". bonus points for getting the reference
Buttercup
idk Should be Forbidden now, leads to massive combos (Sabers, GBs) that aren't a lot of fun. Was balanced at first in the slow formats of yonks ago and the fast formats that needed S/Ts, isn't now.
Fader
Limited...With the constant bottemless,d prison, mirror force usage we should get 1 break at the most. I think limited is reasonable
Mehmani
I disagree - 1 Cold Wave is easily enough to protect an OTK from being stopped. Should be forbidden.

byak
Cold Wave should've been designed as a defensive card.
Great Unclean One: VK
In current format: Banned. Why? Starts so much f***ing OTKs it's not funny. In OLD formats (Pre-Invasion of Chaos) Unlimited since it didn't really mattered.
Brinolovania
it should stay at limited.

Zauls
IMO, should be limited this format. Without Heavy Storm, we need at least some s/t removal. However, this could be considered worse than Heavy because Heavy can be Starlighted etc. I reckon either Wave @1 and Heavy @0 or vice versa, but both in the same format I reckon would be too much now (and was ast format, OTKs were too easy). XX Saber- Dosequis
its not so bad. agree that it does otk way too much but being limited its pretty balanced. overall really good card
Manjoume Thunder
You cannot have an intelligent discussion on this card. Everyone who actually plays the game know how broke it is. There is nothing to discuss.

Sephiroth_The_Legend
we all know deep down what this card's actual list position should be. we all (maybe not all...) know what kind of effect is has on the outcome of a game. so without really discussing it at all, we should all really know the answer.. Buttercup
YES IT SHOULD BE UNLIMITED SO I CAN PLAY MY BATTERYMANS OTK DECKS LOL
YamiMario
Personally, I think it should stay at 1. It avoids the opponent's traps, but doesn't really punish him/her for setting a bunch of them, like Heavy did. I like the artwork, it was made during the time when the game still had style with cool looking thick lines, which we don't see a lot of these days, sadly.
YES IT SHOULD BE UNLIMITED SO I CAN PLAY MY BATTERYMANS OTK DECKS LOL
You are completely forgetting that Monster Effects and Counter Traps exist. Family Friendly
I think that the fact that neither player can activate/set Spells on their turns breaks it. It's like, giving you two risk-free turns if you're playing it first turn-ish.
Mr. Judgment Dragon
Ban it by all means in the existence of broken combos that this card helps that shouldn't exist in the first place. Basically, with the game in its current state, ban it.

Manjoume Thunder
but doesn't really punish him/her for setting a bunch of them, like Heavy did.
That is the bad part. Most people didn't want Heavy banned, because it punished backrow overextension. This does not even do this and just promotes OTKs.
El Majishan
Banned, OTK and mass combos while leaving you with little options. Heavy is way more balanced IMO.
If Cold Wave is indeed banworthy, this would be the reason since the stupid OTKs it helps shouldn't exist in the first place making that point a bit moot since said OTKs are problems even without Cold Wave. Cold Wave just makes those already easy OTKs easier.
