This probably isn't the best place to ask, but does anyone remember/have the original rules? I have a 2-year-old warning from the TCG section that I don't even know what it's for anymore. I think it might have been a duplicate topic, but like I said, I don't know.

what about cards that are not yet released yet they were on the show say like blaster ogre and gatlling ogre or infernity doomslinger and infernity zero

That would be an anime-only card, which is fine and dandy to discuss, as long as you highlight somewhere that the card is an anime-only card.

However, it should be a card that has info about it available. If all you know is Yusei summons Super Special Awesome Ultra Sexy Super Dragon in next weeks episode, but don't know it's effect, attack, level, etc etc, it'd just be pointless speculation and speculation isn't allowed.

Can we have a rule implemented where the Original Poster of the Topic must highlight 2 things they want to discuss, when discussing Single Cards?

I looked at a few threads, where it was just a picture of the card and then the word "discuss."

Basically, this forces people to actually think about the card before posting, and gives a topic a direction.

Oh... I never responded to this. > >

I always figured something like this would be "greatly suggested" as opposed to being mandatory. Too many topics would end up getting locked and it'd end up being too much work on your TCG mod.

tl;dr - I'm fine with it being "strongly suggested" but not with it being mandatory.

New "subtle" change to the rules.

2d: Policy on Anime-Only, Manga-Only, Video Game-Only.

All anime-only, manga-only, and video game-only cards are free to be discussed. However, make sure when creating said topics you are in compliance with all the rules. ESPECIALLY rule 2c.

Furthermore, if your card is anime-only, manga-only, or video game-only, feel free to specify that in the topic title. And by 'feel free', I mean do it.

Edit (As of March 8, 2011): And by "do it" I mean, "do it or you're getting a warn increase".

Rule 'officially' goes into effect next week to give you some leeway. Remember, topic title is not synonymous to subtitle.

How about people don't receive warns for not having the card name in the title for now. The whole point you enforced the rule was so people could find threads via the search bar but that has seemed to stop working altogether.

That was one of the reasons for the rule. The other reason was so people would know what they were getting into before they clicked it.

He is? *fistpump*

For seven days. He has like, 4 or 5 more to serve.

Anyways, current policy on discussion on sets?

Not allowed. "Discussion" of sets typically devolve to either just one or two cards being discussed (which makes later discussions of individual cards redundant) or just spamming of [card name and effect] "Do want!" and that's all.

What about threads like "Full spoiler for set X?" Same?

OBJECTION!

the images I found were too big.

Suggestions?

Hm...

I've seen a bunch of these pass, so no Structure/Starter deck threads?

Why? We do nothing but discuss cards everyday. It'd be like if Your Deck made a "Deck of the Day" or Literature made a "Book of the Day" or Movies made a "Movie of the Day" or shows made a "Show of the Day" or anime made an "Anime of the Day" or... you get the idea, right?

My thoughts on multiple cards per topic have always been the same. The more cards you have to talk about, the less (on average) people will say about any individual card. If you typically write 100 words per post, now that you're discussing two cards you're more inclined to do 50 words per discussion.

Secondly, if it's a topic about REDRUM and Dandylion, and I more wanna talk about REDRUM, it doesn't serve me any interest to go into that topic if everyone's mostly talking about Dandylion. And I wouldn't be able to make a new topic about just REDRUM because a topic about it already exists.

Curiously enough, this effect also applies to created card. Check out an individual card as opposed to a set and you'll see on average people have less to say about individual cards

I'd probably a bit more lenient with those, as structure decks typically have a narrow enough focus. I believe the rules are "cards that go together" can be talked about at once. It makes no sense to make a topic discussing Sun Dragon and make a seperate topic for Moon Dragon. Likewise multiple cards can probably discussed together in a combo. If they have nothing in common other then release date, you're better off with seperate topics

1. Does your multiple cards per topic include discussions on themes/archetypes?

Case-by-case basis.

I most likely wouldn't be fine with a HERO archetype discussion (because it's like, 100+ cards with a lot of sub-themes in it. Elemental, Destiny, Masked, Vision, Neospacian) but something smaller like the D-Hero engine or the plant engine would be fine.

2. Discussing vanillas if they have use/viable combos, since there seems to be up and coming support for them?

Discuss the support, not the vanilla.
