The Polar God Cards Are Going To Be Awesome!

In my trade binder. Compare THIS:

1 Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, you can select 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls. Until the End Phase, that monster's effect(s) is negated and this card gains the negated effect(s). If this face-up card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon it from the Graveyard during the End Phase. If you do, inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

1 "Polar Star Beast" Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of face-up monsters your opponent controls until the End Phase. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard, you can remove from play 1 "Polar Star Beast" Tuner monster during that turn's End Phase to Special Summon this card from Graveyard. When this card is Special Summoned this way, inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

Guess which one is the official OCG for the card? Yeah, thanks Konami, way to ruin yet another badass card with your obsessive metagame control. I was expecting an effect-hijacking beatstick, but all I get is a minature Plasma. I don't even care about the Tuner-removal or the new summon requirements. And the effect isn't BAD, it's just not fun!

Anyone else NOT psyched for Storm of Ragnarok anymore?

The anime effects + genericness made the Polar Gods obscenely OPed. The OCG effects/limitations make them crap. The main reason for this is I know that Polar Star Beasts, Polar Star Spirits, and Polar Star Angels won't get enough support to even consider using one of the Polar Gods in a competitive deck, and unless you use a deck with all of them, which is bound to be horribly inconsistent, they're just not going to cut it.

Polar Star General Baldr

Level 4
LIGHT/ Warrior/ Effect
1600/1000
Once per turn, you can send 1 "Polar Star" card from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Polar Star" monster from your Deck. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect.

This needs to exist first.

E-Heroes failed at first, slowly became more awesome/playable, and finally became lolbroken come the manga. Now they (in antimeta beat form) are like top tier/tier 2 in TCG and OCG.
Give the polar star some time, it will either become awesome due to abusible combos for card advantage and spamming synchros (not just the norse gods), or they will end up forgotten, then later brought back and made broken as hell like the new true six samurais.

How the hell is the real one bad?
If you actually read the whole post I specifically said that it WASN'T a bad card, but it isn't good and it isn't fun. All he is is a beefed-up, half-ass Plasma that qualifies for Honest abuse with a potential for three auto-revives. Solid card, yes, in a soulless metadeck with no style! And both Odin and Loki are superior in most ways. Loki at least gets to keep his Trap Recovery, even if he only gets to use it three times max.

I didn't want to build Six Sam Lockdown Rushdown w/ Giant Hammer, I wanted to do hilarious things like steal Brionac's effect and drop my hand to bounce my opponent's field, or steal Goyo's effect and use it to steal Goyo.

Oh, and also Konami can't make up their minds now. Is DIVINE an Attribute or isn't it?

Polar Star Beasts/Thor have the most support, since Dragan got the most attention, card wise. They have the best synergy and seem keyed to get Thor out quickly. Brave got almost no attention in terms of monsters, since he already had Thor out, and his Tuner is a level 5, isn't it? He didn't even summon Loki until the last turn of the episode. Harald got even LESS attention because his whole deck seemed to be nothing but Trap Cards that didn't even do anything (seriously, look at his hand. It's got like 6 Traps in it and he doesn't even try to use most of them, and one is Soul Resurrection...for some reason)
