Naturia in HA3: My Analysis

Recommended Posts

Hidden Arsenal 3 is coming out Dec 7
look at these

Barkion with Bamboo Shoot 100% locks down your opponent’s back row, and at 2500 attack, It is decent offensively, considering that you cant d-prison it

beast in late game. 4 naturias in the GY, and its indestructible by battle. Imagine this, Barkion, and Bamboo shoot out at the same time. :o

heavy price. im skeptical on this one, but effect negation is always nice. :P

synchro with this and you get another level 4. Always nice.

meh, its nice to have a little attack power as by nature, naturias are weak, but idk about this one.

at 1800 atk, this card is amazing. Negate Special Summons, including synchros, plus its naturias much needed beat stick.

Im not sure what to think about this. It could be amazing in certain situations, but a complete dead draw in others. Again, it makes Naturias offensively stronger, which is much needed, plus mind control is nice. Im gonna say win. Your thoughts?

Free beatstick, defense, or synchro material. More greatness!

Naturia already has the amazing bamboo shoot, beast, and pineapple.
They have quick synchro spamming, antimeta, lockdown, and now, even beatsticks. I could actually see naturia hitting tier one. What do you think? Discuss.

So what if Cliff isn't broken? Dragonfly, Horneedle and Fruitfly are awesome. I was disappointed when I saw Pineapple's effect because the Naturia insects are what drew me to the archetype. I plan to have fun with Extrio's Tusk next set. Urgent Tuning with Rock is awesome in that deck for surprise plays. That deck is just fun.

Naturias are terrible. Only the synchros and to some extent Pineapple are worth running. Their only shot at becoming a competitive deck was Bambooshoot (cwutididthar) but every deck mains about 10 answers to it.

...Manjourn, how long have you played Yugioh? Have you even seen all the Naturias? They can lock down an opponent’s field easier than any other archtype, and they have two good tuners, and several other good synch material monster that together give them tier one speed synchro. Please do your research -_-

(400th post ftw! Level four member :D)

Im not amazing, but I win local tourneys, and certainly know the game, so “STOP. BEING. BAD” really doesnt do anything except make me think less of you.

EDIT: It doesnt miss timing btw, It works perfectly as synchro material, you do get another lv 4. Checked the rulings myself.

Naturias have potential. There are also the ones that are coming in the next packs. I love Cliff. It might be able to loose the timing, but you can still Tribute it for Bambooshoot (because Bambooshoot's effect is Continuous), use it for Synchro, and get it destroyed by battle most of the time.

I'm now waiting for the Butterfly and the rest of the Spell Cards.

Only time will actually show weather they become tier 1 or not...

Ive won tourneys with my Machina. Its a great deck. I dont know what your talking bout.
how many of the Machinas do you use though? Fortess, Force, Gearframe, possibly Peacekeeper. yea no you use Machina Gadgets. pure bred Machinas suck.

A friend of mine uses a great Machina deck using FuFu and Overload Fusion, and I personally use a GK deck. I'm not saying they suck, but making them purebred makes them terrible.

no really? Just machinas suck? MIND. BLOWN.

no but seriously, its kinda obvious that you cant make a good deck that JUST uses machina. I play Machina Gadgets, but is still a machina deck. The same about Naturias. They need support from other non naturia cards but with that support I think they can hit tier 1.

Cliff misses all kinds of timing since his effect is optional. The last thing to happen on the field has to be his demise so when you synchro with or tribute him the last thing to happen on the field is that a monster was summoned so he misses his timing.

Cliff is on field

Tributed and sent to the grave. Must activate effect here.

But alas a monster is in the middle of being summoned to he misses the timing.

Kind of like when you draw into Exodia during Graceful Charity. Exodia misses the timing.

That being said I think Naturia's are awesome and with Extrio's Tusk and Forest/Synchro shenanigans they have the potential to be pretty formidable. They need some kind of broken revival card though to start sweeping punks under the rug.

hmm..
I had understood that stuff that misses the timing only missed the timing against other effects. Not other actions such as Summoning.
That example.. Graceful Charity's discarding part is an "effect", so I'm still to see an example that demonstrates how Cliff misses the timing with a Tribute Summon like bambooshoot.

Cards miss the timing when they're optional effects with Triggers that occur in the middle of a chain or other effect resolving.

Exodia doesn't "miss the timing", it just can't be declared a victory until that particular action is finished. Graceful Charity still needs to discard 2 before it's finished resolving.

Cliff is worded that being sent to the graveyard must be the last thing to occur. If you Tribute or Synchro with it, it is sent to the graveyard, but a monster is Summoned last in the event, so Cliff misses the timing.

A card like Geartown must be destroyed to get its effect. Destroying it by activating a new field Spell of your own does destroy it, but the action isn't completed until the activated Field Spell resolves, so Geartown misses the timing. An opponent activating a new field destroys the field spell AS it successfully resolves, so Gear doesn't miss the timing then. Setting your own field kills Geartown, but the action is completed there, since no further action is taken, and Geartown gets its effect.

Mandatory effects like Sangan will never miss the timing, no matter how it was sent.
