AbbatonStrikes
I come before the oracles of TCG knowledge to ask a question that has got me thinking!! The Contiuous Trap Card Enervating Mist does its effect mean that throughout both players turn your opponent's hand limit cannot exceed 5 or is it simply to lower the hand limit you can have at the End Phase of the turn? I give an example: your opponent holds 4 cards, then plays Pot of Greed now he/she has 6. Does its effect activate now and force them to discard one card or The same again your opponent keeps the cards till the end of the turn and now they must discard the card to keep the limit to 5. Link to the card if your not sure which one Im on about: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Enervating_Mist Cheers for the help Abbaton
byak
"The Hand size limit refers to how many cards you are allowed in your hand. The limit is six, but this is only enforced during the End Phase, during any period after or before, you are allowed any number of cards in your hand. Lonk
Here is what it means: Normally, if your hand exceeds 6 cards at the End Phase, you must discard 1. Enervating Mist is the same except it lowers that limit.
AbbatonStrikes
Oh right so it only lowers the total hand limit at the End Phase. It doesnt enforce the limit throughout the turn. thanks alot people. I was really confused by it as later cards are far more specific.
Mehmani
If it made their hand limit 4 it would be lulzy against Exodia.
AbbatonStrikes
Thats a fair point I guess. But they do make cards to prevent other cards from being played or used like mispolymerization, Limit Area A & B, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell and Call of the Grave
Giant Mushroom?
If it made their hand limit 4 it would be lulzy against Exodia. IF they did that then either exodia wouldnt be used anymore, or this card would be banned almost immediatly

Sleepy
If it made their hand limit 4 it would be lulzy against Exodia. IF they did that then either exodia wouldnt be used anymore, or this card would be banned almost immediatly
If it made limit of 4, Exodia would simply not wait until the End Phase. Since the limit is not enforced until then, I don't see why it would be affected that badly. ----------------------------------------------------------- I see this thread's card as a -1 and noting else. It might still be in play but what benefit does it really make? It doesn't make much of a difference to the game. Even 4 wouldn't make a difference. If it was something more drastic like 3, it would be funny. If it was 2, it would be awesome. If 1, it would be broken, but 5 is useless.
Black W Mage
pot of greed from the hand or from the field? in the first case, you would actually have 5 cards, not 6...
evilfusion
What troubles me about this card is it implies there was ever a time in the game where a hand limit being reduced by 1 was actually crippling enough to make a card to do it. Then there's that Hieroglyph or whatever card that for 1000 LP, your hand limit becomes 7. Because evidently Infinite Cards couldn't handle the burden. If this card said "your opponent's hand limit is 1 less", then this could be funny in 3, but otherwise useless. Unless your deck relies on you using a very full hand, this card is laughably bad and not worth anything.

evilfusion
...lolwhat? Enervating Mist is a useless card. Most players don't have more than five cards in their hand at the End Phase of their turn, so this card does nothing but take up a card slot in the deck. And Infernities have better things to do than reduce their opponent's hand limit inconsequentially.
wiithepeople
Enervating Mist is a useless card.
True, but no card is ever worthless. You just need to use it right. Not many people cared for Rescue Cat when it came out but when Glad Beasts and X-Sabers came out, all the sudden it was broken like crazy.
evilfusion
Trust me. This isn't like Rescue Cat, which just had a shortage of good cards to use with (except Gyaku-Gire). This card has no future potential. It doesn't hinder the opponent at all, and it doesn't do enough, even if there is a card later printed that says "Your opponent cannot draw or add cards to their hand if they will exceed their hand limit".
