Kuri
Well teachers at my school have been attacking students with what I call the "Boobie Bands" why? Well last year all these bands (about breast cancer) say "I <3 Boobies" on them. At first nothing was happening until late June, they started getting taken away. There was also a meeting about this and so anything inappropriate breast cancer bands will be confiscated. So happening around your area or what? Smesh
We have wrist bands that say "Keep a breast".

Smesh
Why? Because it says breast? Get over it.
Anbu-of-Sand
Last year on Pink Day at our school to prevent Bullying, one of my friends wore a shirt that also supported breast cancer, for it had the Pink breast caner symbol and in big bold letters saying "I LOVE BOOBS". Teachers / Principle couldn't make him remove it even though the saying was 'inappropriate'.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
Bloody hell. Your administration board should know that the "I <3 Boobies" bracelets actually GOES TO BREAST CANCER FUNDS. It's a drive. The inflation of popularity these bands have been getting are crazy though; almost everyone I know has one. I don't think they buy it for the cancer funds. However, it's pretty neat since they have them in so many different varieties and colors that even though so many people have them, no one really has the same color. I think it's a fine fashion accessory of today due to the donations it gives to Breast Cancer research labs. I have three of them.

---------------
Let's think of it from an adults point of view: Despite all reasonable logic, you need money to survive. You need more money to buy shiny things. Adults are addicted to survival and shiny things, so, therefore, this is what it most likely running through their underdeveloped minds: I LOVE BOOBS = Angry Parents (ignoring the fact that most likely the parents bought them) -Angry Parents = Less Students -Less Students = Less Money -Less Money = D: -[s]I LOVE BOOBS[/s] = :

~Jay~
I wear one on Fridays, it doesn't seem like that big of deal. As long as you be mature about it I guess.
Dark
I personally haven't seen them in my school yet, but I'm sure they exist. But wow, I laugh at the stupidity of your school system. I understand that freedom of speech isn't necessarily available in schools, but still, the irrationality of some educational leaders is so low that it is quite ironic that they are the highest up in your twelve-year education. It really is. Let's think of it from an adults point of view: Despite all reasonable logic, you need money to survive. You need more money to buy shiny things. Adults are addicted to survival and shiny things, so, therefore, this is what it most likely running through their underdeveloped minds: I LOVE BOOBS = Angry Parents No, let's think of it from a rational adult's point of view. Yes, money is very nice. Money does a lot of things. No, not at all. If a parent gets angry because they see "I <3 BOOBIES" on a goddamn wristband that is going towards breast cancer funds, they are not rational. The school needs to understand that if they are truly preparing you for the real world, they should only be restricting things that pose a generally problem. And if the school (high or middle) thinks that the children should not be exposed so such language, they are ignorant morons that don't understand a thing. Which is true in most regards, except for the mildly intelligent schools that don't give a damn and do more important things with their time instead of banning a wristband that doesn't affect anyone or promote anything illegal or discriminatory. tl;dr version: Your school is a moron.
Icy
And no, I don't like those words on the wristband's at all. Regardless of intent it is direct, and for me not tasteful at all. In Hawaii such thing's actually hinder (and have been proven) a child's learning experience. So maybe it's a different situation? Meh. Have it say like "I <3 Breast Cancer Research" whatever...
Dark
So absolutely taking away freedom of speech and freedom of expression actually helps a child's learning experience?! No wonder those kids in China are so smart! D: Jokes aside, you are taking it in the wrong way. I don't see how anything like that can hinder anything for anyone; it is not profane, it is not sexist or racist, it is simply a play on words for supporting breast cancer. Both guys and girls wear it, from what I've heard, and there is no reason why anyone should be attacked or even punished for this. Again, it is the idiocy of the schools, which is so ironic, because they attempt to make us not stupid. I guess what the want us to do is follow in the exact opposite of their footsteps; that'll make us smart, unlike them. No sarcasm intended, but that was obvious. I-dreezyAFG
1st: if a teacher confiscated one from me for wearing it ( idont though cause we dont have them here) i would tell them wht if they had a relative who was diagnosed. wouldn't they wear the band then? i dnt have a relative who is diagnosed though 2nd: im a guy. dont be suprised if i love boobies =D jks 3rd: if teachers dont find it appropriate, oh well, they're being childish. they should suck it up. Fader
It is perfectly fine to wear them. I know the schools principle here and he lets me violate the dress code all the time...
Catman25
I've seen someone have a wristband with "Save the Tatas" but that's it. I don't think anyone get in trouble for supporting breast cancer awareness. =/
Tentacruel
Just shove the wristband up your sleeve and say wristbands what wristbands. .... Regardless, the schools ARE stupid, but that is in no way surprising.

Dismal Euphony
I'm currently wearing an "I <3 Boobies" bracelet. I don't see the issue with them. My school didn't see an issue with them either. I've actually seen some of the faculty sporting their "I <3 Boobies" bracelets on more than one occasion. I think the statement is funny and I think it's a great way to get younger people into supporting breast cancer awareness.
Kuri
tl;dr version: Your school is a moron.
A very debatable statement, but in this situation, yes, yes it is. Its too strict, and even the "fun" events don't even out the strictness. Our Events: Back to School Halloween Parade (7th grade [my grade] and 8th were suppose to have a party, but 8th grade got their teacher mad) Thanks Giving Day Movies, etc. Christmas Party 100th Day of School celebration That's as far as I'm thinking we'll get this year since we didn't have much last year.. Dark
I was only referring to this situation; I don't know far enough about your school to make the generalization that your entire board of education is a complete moron, but I can still make the correct assumption that they are generally incorrect and stupid on this matter. I'm also quite shocked to find that they think middle schoolers haven't already been exposed to such kind of "crude" (loosely, of course) language, and doubly shocked that the school is essentially preventing any sort of awareness to breast cancer, since these wristbands are the big thing this year.
