Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant

Recommended Posts

My friend wanted to know if his blackwing deck was any good. So I did, using Shura to bring out 2 Kaluts and 1 Blizzard and tuned them up for a Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant which has the power to blow away any monster with 2800 DEF or less which can destroy a Red Dragon Archfiend. I just want to see what you think.

Card Lore:
1 "Blackwing" Tuner Monster + 2 or more non-Tuner monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can select and destroy up to 2 face-up monsters on the field with DEF lower than this card's ATK. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. The next time a "Blackwing" monster you control would be destroyed by battle during your opponent's turn, it is not destroyed; this effect only happens once.

well another simple combination i've tried out is that if you running a solidarity blackwing deck is using Ghibi the Searing, pot of duality, Kalut and blizzard. if you have 2 of the 3 cards use pot of duality for get the remaining or hand destruction then simply end your turn, if that your second turn and your opponent have a monster on the field then let your opponent summon 1 or 2 more lol, then when they attack you play Ghibi and switch the ATK and DEF then play kalut to defend your self if the situation seem simple, then on your next turn play blizzard then you get kalut on the field then synchro summon silverwind then kill 2 monsters afterward. this actually was sneaky caught me off guard though.

How many people have actually summoned this legitimately?
I have not seen anyone actually!

OT: People tend to have a copy of this in their Extra Deck just because you make a beastsick out of a Vayu and an Armor Master! It's just meh.

Would still be balanced if it was 1 non-Tuner. Sirocco + Gale = This would be epic.

But, like this thread has already said, only use is for Vayu. It's great to put one in your Extra just in case your in the situation where you need it. Besides your not losing any Deck Space! (:

Haet this guy.

Blakie went Sirrocco -> Gale -> this.

Why can't people summon him legit again?
Because Blakie didn't read.

Silverwind needs -2- or more non-tuners. You need three monsters, including a Blackwing Tuner, to reach level 8 for this. Even if you manage it, I expect you're more likely to Synch for a different level 8.

Rebel, when will you ever learn. Your saying that it's a waste to run this because there is the slightest chance it will get hit by Solemn Warning, Torrential Tribute, Bottomless Trap Hole, etc. (which is true, it is not worth running), but does cards like the ones I have just stated stop people from running monsters that do have somewhat hard requirements to get out from the Extra Deck, even though they're taking the risk of that monster getting destroyed / removed? My answer to that is, no. Why? Because that person will most likely take that risk, and / or have a strategy already prepared to counter such cards.

The card itself though, I wouldn't run. There are much better Level 8 monsters with the same stats and better effects than this card. Even though this card can easily clear the field of 2 monsters right off the bat. Well, maybe 'easily' is not the right word.
