... Probably the latest one.

Not to mention anyone with a decent internet condition and the basics of google skills can get Photoshop CS5 for free.

Though considering you think your dad "workes for Photoshop" (rather then Adobe, the company that makes the program) and you didn't immediately think to get the latest version, I think Photoshop would be too advanced for you to use anyway, and you should settle on MSPaint.

Actually, I have Photoshop and I'm really good at it and it came with my computer its called Photoshop 7.0 Ive been practicing on it and I decided to get a new and better photoshop but I didn't think photoshop cs5 was the best one considering there is tons and tons of different kinds of photoshops and it is my dad's friends.. Plus I dont use MSpaint, never will use MSpaint, Id rather use Gimp.

Anyway thanks for the advice.

Clearly the latest. Photoshop Cs5 Extended.

Though, to be honest you're better off with a rudimentary photo editor if you're not serious. Sure a lot of features make certain things infinitely easier (masking in GIMP takes like 20 steps last I checked while in Photoshop it takes 2-3); but are you sure you want a program with features you largely won't use?

And if you're looking for a Pixel Editor, use GraphicsGale. It's a personal favorite.

Yeah, My brother which is 16 is highly experienced on it. All I want to do is make like signitures and some stuff for my shop. My Bro said I could pick which photoshop to get so I decided to ask YCM. And on amazon photoshop is like 500 dolars and getting it for 50 is a nice deal right? So that is even better, I can also learn some new stuff on it with like youtube and and other cool tutorials on different sites.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

Seriously? The $500 is generally worth it. It comes with a plethora of extra programs you'll grow to like. And since Adobe is partnered with Pixologic, it makes more features easier down the line. Whereas that $50 will only land you the singular program, which may be more than you need. But an investment like that takes a lot of thought and planning anyway, so consider it carefully.

Indeed the 500$ pack is worth it.
Though its kinda' funny that I got my massive CS5 pack for the student discount.
(I only payed like 300$)

I still find it funny how you dont really need to take classes on Photoshop to get "good" at it.
As just about every Photoshop teacher you come across will tell you the only way to get good at it is to just play around with it.

I wouldn't say that. Some features require actual mentoring to get good with. Like GOOD photography healing and stuff. But all the basics and getting into your own flow, is what the people can't teach you haha.

Yea..... Learning how to animate stuff, export pages as HTML pages, and the photo-restoration things might take a bit of learning-how-to-do, but even then, those are pretty straight forward xD

Lol that still confuses me a little. And exporting it to Dreamweaver. But when my GED Courses are done, I'll probably pick up that torch again.

I see you changed "My dad works for Photoshop" to Adobe', yes I was the person that +1'd Pika.

Anyway's, CS5 is the most obvious as it is the latest and therefore contains all best software or whatever, I don't know, I don't care, if I were you I would listen to Josh.
