Teacher: Alright, any current events today?

Me: *Raises hand*

Teacher: Okay go!

Me: Some Australian politician blames the United States for the Wikileaks incident.

Idiot in class: Why are we being blamed? It's their dude, their fault.

Teacher: Hold up. Now, I believe, that whoever ever said that is a complete idiot. It's not our fault that he got to one of our guys and brought info from him. Assange is a enemy of America, just because we're the top dog. Hell, I want him hanged.

Me: True, he revealed some secrets, but I still don't see the reason for hanging him.

Teacher: He's a enemy of America. I don't care who you are, you can't go revealing secrets about other countries.

Me: So it's good if the United States reveals secrets about other countries but it's not good if they do it to us?

Teacher: That's because we're not as corrupt as most other countries. Look at Russia or China. Do they seem a nice country to live in?

Me: Considering Russia have massive oil and natural gas supplies right under it, has Vladimir Putin, and is currently opening up, I guess. But personally I prefer Japan or Finland.

Teacher: I can't believe what I'm hearing. *****, this is America, your home. Why would you want to live in some other place? (Covered my name)

Idiot in class: If you like it in Japan, why don't you go back?

Me: One, I never went to Japan so how could I return to where I never went? Two, Russia may be corrupt, but at least their corrupt as us, and considering in Japan and Finland, their standard of living is higher then us, I wonder why. Sure it's expensive, but nonetheless, I wouldn't mind.

Teacher: Terrance, be quiet. *Turns to me* Okay, but what about Russia. They got ex-KGB agents working in the government for christ's sake!

Me: Oh yeah, since having military personal in the government is so bad. Just look at what George Washington, George Bush senior, John F Kennedy, and Theodore Roosevelt done. Back then, the United States was competely on top. Now we're starting to slide down.

Teacher: That's a lie. We're still top dog and we're better then ever, and you don't have to get a attitude about it. *writes me up for being disruptive*

Me: Wait, why are you even writing me up?

Teacher: For being disrespectful.

Me: I'm just saying what I think.

Teacher: No, your just being disrespectful to me, my country, and your fellow students.

(I then quieted down in fear of this reaching my Uncle back home)

In 5th grade the teacher (who's british) starts talking about how Christopher Columbus was the first to discover North America, and I ended up getting detention.

They think Federal means the study of government.

They think the Queen of England and the royal family HAS COMPLETE AND UTTER CONTROL over the U.K.

THEY THINK ALIENS ARE ALWAYS HOSTILE AND WANT TO KILL US FOR NO REASON.

Plus they also share the view of my teacher.

Me: The United States is falling behind on iron production compared to other countries.

You see, this is why when i'm done with high school we're moving to where I was born, Italy. As for your teacher. He's a complete hypocrit. He's spouting out info that he hears from the news. Every news channel is biased towards a party so there info is changed and edited anyway. if you want the real news go to arc.nasa.gov if you have authorization. That's where the wikileaks hackers got their info. America became a powerhouse in the late 1800's because some Americans went to a foreign country and ripped the factory ideas. Every major bloody conflict has involved the Americans in one way or another. Vietnam, Korean, WW1, WW2, Conflict in Iraq, and Conflict in Aghafistan. I may've not been in this country when 9/11 happened but I've researched this stuff using the link I provided. The aerial manuever the supposed terrorist pillot did was expertly done and these men didn't have ANY piloting experience recorded. I'm just waiting for the day that China comes up and says "I want money that isn't bounced from your dan checkbook" because when that happens the Americans will be severely fu--ed over. Oh, you have an ocean, I forgot. I'm pretty sure Iran will want to pitch in China's effort to take down America. America is only powerful through fear. The only reason the conflict ended between Russia and America was Reagan's idiotic idea of something like the deathstar. If you're Russia at that time and you've seen what the Americans can do to Japan then you'll think twice before thinking that idea is a joke. In short, your teacher is a idiotic patriotic radical. I will pay you in rep all the way to Saturday if you show my post to your stupid teacher. While I agree with you that this scenario is stupid, you're being an idiot too.


You gain nothing from arguing with him. I'm sure you feel all nice and proud of "Making a Stand" or some such thing, but in actuality, you accomplished nothing.

You got: Written up and a teacher who will dislike you for awhile now.


You're never going to convince these people, and you're just going to hurt your grades. You're sacrificing educational opportunity for pointless bickering. And despite how stupid you may think it is that a letter on a piece of paper holds so much gravity, the fact of the matter is that it does. The way you ace the tests is by putting what THEY want on them so you make THEM happy, because THEY'RE the ones determining YOUR educational fate. Your job is to extract the gems of knowledge from all the impurities. Then retain these. Everything else is a silly little hoop to jump through so that you can continue to have the opportunity to extract more.


And it's not betraying your beliefs or any of that hogwash to do this. It's a well-calculated strategic move to pick your battles wisely.

That's the least of their beliefs I'd worry about. In many ways its dominance is irrefutable, but this doesn't in any way represent its righteousness.

Christ, what is the world coming to? We didn't have any of this crap back in my day, no sir. We didn't have these electronical gizmos, you know. We spent our free time working in the coal mines. We had to take crap out of the ground for sixty hours a week, and they didn't pay us more than a couple bucks each month. That was before we had all this crap with inflation. Jesus, you kids take your money for granted. You think you can just walk down to your local department store and get yourself some sort of computer thingy every day because your damn parents will spoil you by paying for it. Back when I was your age, we worked for our money, and we earned it with our bare hands. We didn't sit around all day posting crap on these "forums". It was my hard work and perseverance that made me into the person I am today, instead of some damn conman who gets thrown into prison, which would serve that punk over there right for wearing those ripped jeans.

But I digress. What was I talking about? It was something about torn jeans. See, if that damn skater punk hadn't interrupted me, this would never have happened. That punk will probably be thrown into jail soon, you hear? He's certainly a communist. What are all these damn communists doing on the internets, anyhow? Last time I checked, the internet belonged to America. We speak American on here, not Hawaiian or Mexican or British or whatever other damn language you can come up with. Christ, why are they letting these communists stay on America's computers, anyhow? You know, back in my day, we had public lynchings of those damn commies. I found out that my college roommate was a commie, and he would have been lynched if he hadn't already been thrown in jail for stealing some crap from that store. You know, the store that was selling that crap. You know the one. They probably sell teacups there too, which is British, which is practically a communist country anyhow. I hear they're full of skater punks too.

Back when I was young, we didn't shun people for discussing stuff either, unless they were discussing communism or some crap like that. No sir, I was involved in some heated debates in my day. Like that one where we argued over whether America should go enter the war. You know, the war with all the soldiers, and the fighting and stuff. And probably communists too. Except the communists later betrayed their own allies and joined the British. That just goes to show that you can't trust them. There were also those damn German communists who went around killing Polish communists. I argued strongly for America to enter the war, yes sir, and get rid of all those commies. And the war, of course, was a victory for America. Then those Russian communists betrayed us just liked they betrayed the German communists. I saw it coming for years, you know. Can't trust those communists. Anyhow, the point is that discussion can be damn good for a country, especially if it teaches those skater punks a lesson. Christ, why are there so many of them nowadays?

You know, I was telling another bunch of young scoundrels this the other day, and they complained that I was insulting them. Just because your view is crap doesn't mean that you're being insulted when someone like Wilford Brimley proves you wrong, no sir. Unless you're one of those damn punks who gets arrested for robbery and takes up space in American prisons that could be used on bigger threats, like Mexicans. Those foreigners are always stealing American jobs, which might be why America's youth is so crappy, because they couldn't get jobs even if they wanted to with all these Mexicans running around. Back in my day, Mexico was still ruled by France or some crappy European country like that. Those French people may have been un-American, but they kept those Mexicans in line, yes sir. You didn't see any Mexicans mining coal back then. But then the damn French ran away like they always do and America was stuck with people running across the border.

Jesus, there's so much crap on the internets, it's hard to know where to begin. The best thing to do is for everyone to just get a job as a coal miner, so you'll have some cash to spend on the damn pieces of cardboard that you punks pay such high prices to get.[/spoiler]

All you are doing is sealing your own educational fate - everyone is biased to a degree regarding almost all subjects. In school, disagreeing with authority whether you are in the right or in the wrong is a bad idea. Teachers want you to write down what they think, because that's what they want. If you do that, they are happy, and you get good grades, NC Levels or whatever it is you get in America (we get NC Levels here in England). Arguing with someone who has terrible ideals, will stick to their guns and seems to be a bigot is a bad idea. Arguing with someone who has terrible ideals, will stick to their guns and seems to be a bigot that is in a position of authority over you is a worse idea.
