Black W Mage
wait, can you Exceed summon with another Exceed monster? I.E. for lv2, you use 2 Lv2 Exceeds... if so, will the overlaid monsters be transferred over?

Aesirson
I must've misread the main post. I hought they worked like Synchros, but the material monsters had to have the same Levels (like 4+4=

burnpsy
Who else expects a ruling saying that an Exceed Monster's Rank is also its Level (or, to make them incompatible with Synchros, their Rank + 12 = their Level)?

Death Knight
Who else expects a ruling saying that an Exceed Monster's Rank is also its Level (or, to make them incompatible with Synchros, their Rank + 12 = their Level)?
Well my guess that Rank won't be treated as certain amount of level and seemingly that rank will also give different value in estimating balance between the stats and effect but after looking at Aspiring Emperor Hope, revise dragon, gurensaurus and Gachigachi Gantetsu. AEH's stats and ability is equalivent to a level 7's potential, Revise Dragon's to level 6's gurensaurus's to level 5's and Gachigachi Gantetsu's to level 3's. what you think of it? Next is the Exceed material Monster requirement, though looking at them it show general monster at 2 the most. My assumption that another kind of requirement, if gotten more specific meaning it harder to summon as well it is more powerful but i can't exactly how powerful they can be despite of being in same rank. this is the list of examples of requirement in the future may have: 2 level 4 (e.i:DARK) monster: an Exceed monster that only require dark or other attribute monsters would be slightly powerful. 2 level 4 (e.i: Dragon-Type) monster: requiring specific type of monster probably have more or less equality to the one that use attribute depending on the population of that type. 2 Level 4 (e.i.: Wind )(E.I. Warrior-Type) monster: this requirement would somewhat make it harder to summon plus making it more or less stronger than the above. 1 level 4 (e.i.: LIGHT) monster + 1 level 4 (e.i.; DARK): i'm sure they make exceed monsters that need 2 monster of same level but different attributes so it make the summon a little easier than one with attribute and type. next would be even hard is the requirement that use more than 2 monster, imagining that there few will use 3 of same level like 3 level (1, 2, 3, 4) monster: seemingly that 2 exceed material monsters is the most basic and common number to have and having more than 2 will make it harder to achieve. I know Superancient Deepsea king Coelacanth that can so both snychro and exceed but it will make the exceed summon easier as far i know. so coelacanth's ability server purpose to exceed monster. another would by dandylion rank 2, marauding captian for rank 3, scapegoat( if rank 1 monster exist). If there rank 5, the level 5 monsters would be easier to use either quickdraw synchron with IRS, the tricky with tricky spell 4 or dark world goldd and silva by discarding. but it seem there will be more monster with level adjustments let hope there alot. crimsonwendy
Since many of the exceed monsters seem to have high attack and are level 4 and lower (at least so far) I think this will make them very playable with cards like Gravity Bind and other cards that help low level cards.
