Card Prices

Recommended Posts

for me its simple, if you come to me and want something iv got, and you have got stuff i can shift/trade-on easily i tend to only inflate the price by about 10% to get the better of the trade because i dont need to do the trade. however if you have only got stuff that i cant shift easily then i inflate what my cards are worth by like 40% because i dont want to be lumbered with cards i cant shift/trade-on easily. also card prices are determine by supply/ demand but if your too lazey to work it out ebay is your friend as it shows the most people can flogg it for, so thats what you base your price off.

Alot of players determine prices, other times it's as has been stated. High demand = $$$ But there is also the fact that Beckett Collector is the #1 most used card catalouge around so American enthusiasts usually have an up to date copy and use it, which Beckett has stated, they base their prices on what the companoes tell them to. I.E. If PoD is set at $120 a card, it's because "Konami told us to put that as the price."

This has been noted on their site multiple times, so they redid their magazine format for "Childrens" card games so now you'll no longer see artfully packed magazines based on one card game. Now you get a 50 page (if that) mag called "Beckett Strategyst!" which has 10 pages per every card game they place in there. The newest Ive seen has info about everything from Duelist Revelations and Starstrike Blast. Marches should include Storm of Ragnarok info, and then a month after Extreme Victory comes out it'll have that info too. Sadly though, they still go by the "Because (company name here) told us that is the price" policy so theres no point in angry emails over why a thrid rate card has a first rate price.

I try and make the most profit.

last week i got Caius for 2 dollars and a Cold Wave.
my teammate literally got Solemn Warning for 5 dollars.

this is how trades go:

Good Trader and Good Trader-Trade is even or someone made very little profit
Good Trader and Bad Trader-Good Trader made Great Trade or Trade couldn't be done because the bad trader just non negotiable
Bad Trader and Bad Trader-Trade is Bad/Good it doesn't really matter to them

it's an interesting idea. i usually give the average of what i find on a site that sells cards and if the other trader doesn't like it, that 's tough. it's annoying when people ask what i value a card and then argue with my answer. for example, at my last regionals, someone wanted my ulti first edition enishi, shien's chancellor. they asked what i valued it at and i said ten dollars because i had just checked e-bay and that was the average. he disagreed and wouldn't stop arguing about it. he asked, i answered, guess he didn't want it that badly after all
