Masochistic Joker
So I've not played this game since Jaden got the neo-spacians nor have I paid attention to the game's transformation but friends and I are going to Santa Domingo during summer and we're paying attention to the game now. My friends think that synchros are overpowered for some reasons so we've agreed to fusions and such. However, I want the cards I use to be as updated as possible and I was thinking I could run the lightsworn decks i've been reading about. Are there any good builds nowadays? We're using proxies so yeah. This is my sad attempt at a lightsworn deck Deck 40 Monsters 18 Judgment Dragon 2 Garoth 2 LUMINA, LIGHTSWORN SUMMONER Ryko 3 Snipe Hunter 3 Necro Gardna morphing jar Celestia, Lightsworn Angel 2 Wulf, Lightsworn Beast 2 Cyber Dragon Spells 12 Mystical space 2 foolish burial card destruction hand destruction 2 Dark world dealings 2 Monster Reborn Charge of the Light Brigade Solar Recharge book of moon Traps 10 Mirror Force Draining Shield 2 CoH solemn judgment dark bribe 2 Solemn Warning 2 magic cylinder 2 bottomless 2 Torrential Tribute Basically what I did was took tips from wikia, looked at the most used cards on yugiohnetwork and made this. We're using proxies so yeah. This is my sad attempt at a lightsworn deck Deck 40 Monsters 18 Judgment Dragon 2 Garoth 2 LUMINA, LIGHTSWORN SUMMONER Ryko 3 Snipe Hunter 3 No. Add cards that activate in the Graveyard. Like Plaguespreader Zombie and Glow-Up Bulb over this. Necro Gardna morphing jar I personally love this card, but it's not very good in Lightsworn. Celestia, Lightsworn Angel 2 3 is a pretty good number. Wulf, Lightsworn Beast 2 Run 3 if you want to be aggressive, run 2 if you don't like drawing Wulfs. Cyber Dragon Not a very good card in Lightsworn. You could use Lyla, Ehren, Aurkus, or Super-Nimble Mega Hamster over this. Spells 12 Mystical space 2 foolish burial card destruction Again, I like this card, but it's not what you need. If you notice, playing Card Destruction makes you lose one card. Count the number of cards in your hand before and after using the card. You want as many cards in hand as you can. However, Morphing Jar is too slow because of this deck's explosive potential and the slow pace Morphing Jar provides. hand destruction 2 See Card Destruction Dark world dealings 2 See Hand Destruction Monster Reborn Charge of the Light Brigade Solar Recharge Use 3. book of moon Traps 10 Traps are generally bad in Lightsworn. Use 1-5 traps. Beckoning Light and 1 or 2 protection cards like Solemns or Mirror Force are good enough. Alternatively, use Royal Decree. Mirror Force Draining Shield 2 CoH solemn judgment dark bribe 2 Solemn Warning 2 magic cylinder 2 bottomless 2 Torrential Tribute Basically what I did was took tips from wikia, looked at the most used cards on yugiohnetwork and made this.
In bold above are my thoughts on cards that you should take out and a few to add. 3 Celestia, Lightsworn Angel 2 Judgment Dragon 1 Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness 3 Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress 3 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter 2 Super Mega Nimble Hamster 1 Honest 1 Garoth, Lightsworn Warrior 2 Wulf, Lightsworn Beast 1 Aurkus, Lightsworn Druid 1 Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner 1 Ehren, Lightsworn Monk 1 Necro Gardna 1 Plaguespreader Zombie 1 Glow-Up Bulb 3 Pot of Duality 3 Solar Recharge 1 Charge of the Light Brigade 1 Monster Reborn 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Dark Hole 1 Giant Trunade 2 Beckoning Light 1 Mirror Force 1 Solemn Judgment Extra Deck 1 Mist Wurm 1 Avenging Knight Parshath 1 Colossal Fighter 3 Stardust Dragon 2 Black Rose Dragon 1 Scrap Archfiend 1 Ancient Fairy Dragon 1 Gaia Knight, the Force of the Earth 1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary 1 Ally of Justice - Catastor 1 Armory Arm 2 Chimeratech Fortress Side Deck 3 Thunder King Rai-Oh 2 Doomcaliber Knight 2 Solemn Warning 2 Chaos Sorcerer 2 D.D Crow 2 Cyber Dragon 1 Effect Veiler 1 Mind Crush This is a good build to start with. NOTE: This deck assumes you have lots of money. Pot of Duality is a $100 card and this deck has 3 of them. Let me know if I need to fix that. The Synchros are worth quite a bit of money. Sadly, Synchros are really good cards. Not using them could easily lose you the game. If you're really set on not using Synchros, I could fix this up for you. Doomcaliber also has a bullshit price tag, but it's just half of Duality. Other note: I got lazy and didn't want to link a lot of these cards, but I think you'll be fine because you're not as terrible as half of the people on this website. Ehren, Jain, Lyla, and Aurkus are all extra names for Judgment Dragon. Their effects aren't bad either, especially Lyla. Hamster summons Ryko, which thins the deck and sets you up for mill and destruction. Gorz is good without Traps because its summoning conditions become laughable. Especially if your opponent plays Dark Hole on you. Trunade sets up plays with Judgment Dragon that can't be stopped by Bottomless or Solemn Warning. Beckoning gives you back your Judgment Dragon while putting more names in for its summoning conditions. The Extra Deck is just filled with good Synchros and Chimeratech Overdragon. If you play somebody with Machine-type monsters, side in Cyber Dragon round 2 and summon Chimeratech, wiping their field. Crow is in case their deck does a lot from the Graveyard, like Lightsworns or Debris decks. Rai-oh stops other players' Pot of Dualities, XX-Saber Darksouls, and other such cards, but be careful as it conflicts with your own Pot of Duality. Sorcerer is good if you bring in Doomcaliber and Crow because it gets rid of your opponent's cards and becomes quite easy to summon. Mind Crush is for people who use Duality, Darksoul, Sangan, or other cards with similar effects a lot. Warnings are for Monarchs, Gadgets, and other things that have effects that activate when the monster is Summoned. They're also good against decks that rely on a monster, by stopping it. Finally, Veiler is for decks that rely on a few monster effects to win. I have no idea of your budget. Lightsworns are an expensive deck, though. If you need help testing, get YVD at http://www.xerocreative.com/ and I'll play you and help you out.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
What's this? Somebody actually HELPING with the construction of a deck on YCM?! The changes above look solid, though if you need filler for the expensive cards I can try and give suggestions.

Masochistic Joker
ha, thats my build from the deck archive
It is? I didn't bother to look really. @Bowtie, my friends are the type of guys that are the whiny b****es on xbox live and they agreed on no synchros. I really do like your build though but do you think adding quillbolt as synchro fodder would be good if I did go for the synchros? If I do convince them then I'll go with this, thanks.
