I was recently told in my status though he did not pass, but just faint at the sight of the damage. Even if he does pass away though, pokemon will most likely, and hopefully, still continue. Who cares if he created Pokemon? He is still just one man, and many many others are dead. This is almost as bad as the people groaning about the Gundam statue... He is a very reclusive man anyway, so we probably wouldn't get a report of his death in so quickly. Most more real-sounding reports state that he fell unconscious instead of dying.
