Yeah, so anyway, there are a lot of theories behind it. Don't go quoting Charles Darwin to me, he was mostly incorrect anyway. Also, evolution is still just a theory, not truly a fact. Scientists still debate it.

So, why can we cover this and not various forms of religious beliefs in school (except for certain college courses)? You don't have to believe it, but you should know it and respect it imo.

PS: No flaming. You can explain and whatever, but follow the rules. Controversial topic is controversial, after all.

Don't mistake what I said for a lack of belief in it. I'm just stating facts in the first post. Here's another one: Humans are not descendants of monkeys or apes. However, the "proof" is subjective at best. There are many "missing links" and other such gaps in the theory that don't make sense. However, adaptive evolution or whatever you wish to call it exists.

Common rhetoric, easy answer you won't listen to.

Theory is practical exchangeable with fact in science. Gravity is a theory too, you dense creationists, so if you're not going to listen to reason and simply cover your ears when someone speaks it, don't go about responding to an argument you can't comprehend.

Fossils date the Earth to be well over six thousand years old. Fossils show progressive development of complexity. Logic points towards genetic inheritance and slow changes.

Um... Evolution is covered in school? O_o

Whatchoo talkin bout?

Also, I really don't have to respect it. Maybe I should, but that really is up to me, no?

Darwin mostly incorrect?! Says who? Sources or it's BS.

Because this is about the closest theory to being correct, so therefore, schools teach it.

It's funny because my school covers both topics :P

Here's another one: Humans are not descendants of monkeys or apes.
Humans descending from monkeys/apes is not implied in evolution. It says that we come from a species that eventually became both humans and monkeys. What that species looks like we still have no idea, or if that species even exists. I just want to point out that evolution does not outright say we came from apes.

No one's arguing with you there.

Proof of what? No credible scientist has come up with the above conclusion.

There are many "missing links" and other such gaps in the theory that don't make sense.

Let's say I gave you a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and told you that if you could guess what it was I'd give you a hundred dollars. But, just to be a troll, as always, I took out 5 random pieces. So once you have the 995 pieces of the puzzle, would you suddenly go "f[orget] it, it's impossible to comprehend" and throw the puzzle away without even attempting to rationale what you could? I mean, you had most of the picture, just a few of the details were missing.

That's what evolution is like.

Stop right there.
This line of reasoning RIGHT HERE is all I need to know that you have not done any actual research on the subject and are only parroting what you have been told.

Do some research.

Now that that's cleared up, let's discuss a question that has a less obvious answer:

FTW: Moron... or troll?

I wasn't aware there is a difference between the two.

I'm sure Darwin isn't 100% correct, but there has to be some degree of truth to it all.

Even back then you can't pull crap out of thin air and expect people to believe it.

Me, I feel there's not enough evidence to prove humans aren't descendents of apes and monkeys, but right now you can argue either way

There is absolutely zero proof that humans have descended from monkeys.

Humans and monkeys share a common ancestor. That's it.

If your grandfather had two kids, a boy and a girl, and they both went on to marry two different people and had you and your cousin, you're not gonna say "I evolved from my cousin". It's "my cousin and I share a common ancestor, grandpa."

Basics of evolution IMO. > >

Sorry if I come off as either a moron or a troll. My intentions are neither, as I have not said what I believe nor why. You merely assumed it.

As for Darwin being incorrect, his thought process behind evolution was incorrect. But that's understandable. He did his work in the mid 19th century, and a lot has changed since.

@Frunk, as soon as I recall the names, I shall give them to you.

As for the smaller issue of me being a moron or a troll, just assume I'm the moron and go at it.

@Zarkus, yes, there are missing links that aren't easily explained. Yes, I am aware that in Africa there is a chance of finding these links, as Australopithicus afarensis (aka Lucy) was found to be a link that was long considered the earliest link.

I recommend you all read The Third Chimpanzee by Jared Diamond. It is not a pleasure read, but it can be quite stimulating. Also, it's almost a standard for Anthropology 101.

I do believe in evolution to some extent so therefore it exists according to my religious beliefs... BTW I heard there was someone before darwin who propsed the theory but Darwin got more attention...
Do you know who that person is? I can't think of it off the top of my head
