Cin Posted April 22, 2011 Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 There's a few viruses I had to remove from my dad's laptop he was stupid enough to click on of those pop up virus things...one automatically 'scanned' when you turned the machine on... It might be some convoluted way that is more work than it's worth, but if I needed to get rid of Norton, there is definitely a way. EHN. Posted April 23, 2011 Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 Had one on my old laptop that stopped all Microsoft program's working, including encarta, but showed no signs that it was a virus. On my new laptop, had one when I tried to download a fractal pack from deviantart, and when I extracted it with winrar it went crazy with fake anti-spyware programs and other stuff, so I had to go to get it removed by techguys. Although, the latest one I've had (from Wikipedia), Norton found and disabled it, thankfully. Generally, if you want to avoid viruses, don't download anything. End of. The Twizzler Posted May 1, 2011 Report Share Posted May 1, 2011 I did this thing with one of my school's computers where I hacked into the accessibility/security features and set the computer so if you idled for 5 mins the computer would shut down.
