Boss Z
Pretty nice card, for certain decks... namely Gadget Exceed and Super Bugman Decks... Otherwise I'd go Maruading Captain for the simlar effect and potential locking...

evilfusion
It's really that good? Aside from an easy Rank 4 Exceed/level 8 Synchro, I'm not sure what this has over Marauding. Marauding can at least attack the same turn it used its effect.

evilfusion
Yes, I know, hence the "except for Rank 4 Exceed/Level 8 Synchro" part. Is it really that good as opposed to other forms of Special Summoning? You yourself labeled it as "f***ing great". It's good, but what deck warrants running it? Black W Mage
Chain Dog Exceed, Mainsprings, or potentially Crystal Beasts for triggering Ruby Carbuncle's effect. Those warrant it. It's not that great, but I suppose in decks that need to make a quick Exceed (Mainsprings), this could be viewed as necessary.
Ieyasu Tokugawa
if you are not going to synchro why use grow-up over celtic guardian? stop being stupid. evilfusion
I think your logic went astray somewhere. Maybe comparing Genex Controller to Celtic Guardian would be a more fitting comparison, as they're both 1400 Normal Monsters, but one's a level 3 Tuner. All I meant is why do you consider Goblinbergh "f***ing great"? It's effect is exactly like Marauding Captain (typically viewed as mediocre at best), only it switches itself to defense, doesn't protect other monsters, and it itself is level 4. Does it being level 4 over level 3 actually make it an amazing card?

evilfusion
Okay, so here's what I'm getting from you two: A level four Marauding Captain is AMAZING. A level three Marauding Captain is meh. I'm not sayin this card is BAD. I think it's being overhyped, though.

-Griffin
Level 4 Marauding Captain /is/ amazing. Its entire use is getting it out along with a Gadget to Exceed. Marauding just doesn't have that option, it entirely misses the use of this. The effect is more in the level than the card text, here. Although the text is still vital. mk, sounds cool What do you think of PoD now? HOLY s*** I WILL TRADE MY SOUL FOR A PLAYSET
Anyway, because Mainsprings are basically "Exceed.dek", the fact that Goblindbergh makes instant RNK4s is desirable, and is why it is used. It helps bring out the boss monster, which is really important early game. Outside of that, yeah, this is [s]crap[/s] Maurading Captain with an extra level. Manjoume Thunder
Sorry, I thought that I shouldn't explain obvious things. The last 2 major game mechanics (synchros and exceeds) are based on levels. Yes, being a lvl4 instead of 3 is a big deal. Use your head.
burnpsy
As a Morphtronic player, I look at this and see a generic Scopen. Both SS LV4s to summon a monster of the new mechanic of their era. Scopen's a rather good Morphtronic monster. I have no choice but to believe that this thing's amazing.
