Goblindbergh

Recommended Posts

I think your logic went astray somewhere. Maybe comparing Genex Controller to Celtic Guardian would be a more fitting comparison, as they're both 1400 Normal Monsters, but one's a level 3 Tuner.

All I meant is why do you consider Goblinbergh "f***ing great"? It's effect is exactly like Marauding Captain (typically viewed as mediocre at best), only it switches itself to defense, doesn't protect other monsters, and it itself is level 4. Does it being level 4 over level 3 actually make it an amazing card?

Okay, so here's what I'm getting from you two:

A level four Marauding Captain is AMAZING. A level three Marauding Captain is meh.

I'm not sayin this card is BAD. I think it's being overhyped, though.

Let's make an analogy here because I fully agree.

What was the initial reaction to Pot of Duality?
What do you think of PoD now?

I'm certain they were VERY different.

Level 4 Marauding Captain /is/ amazing. Its entire use is getting it out along with a Gadget to Exceed. Marauding just doesn't have that option, it entirely misses the use of this. The effect is more in the level than the card text, here. Although the text is still vital.

What was the initial reaction to Pot of Duality? mk, sounds cool
What do you think of PoD now? HOLY s*** I WILL TRADE MY SOUL FOR A PLAYSET

Anyway, because Mainsprings are basically "Exceed.dek", the fact that Goblindbergh makes instant RNK4s is desirable, and is why it is used. It helps bring out the boss monster, which is really important early game. Outside of that, yeah, this is [s]crap[/s] Maurading Captain with an extra level.

I see your point...although I'm not sure which way you're leaning (Goblin overhyped or Goblin looks meh, but could be amazing).

All right, so maybe I'll play around with it before making a judgment call on its applications.

'Goblindbergh'? It sounds to me like they got a bit 'derpy' with naming the card.

When I first saw PoD I thought it was broken. I still do.

Anyway, the fact that this is a goblin makes me want to play it. The fact that it's good only makes me want to play it more.
