Larxene
Well since I don't really know of any good free ones. Would either of you have a recommendation for one?
J-Max
Avast Free = :3 AVG Free is pretty Good too.
Catterjune
Well since I don't really know of any good free ones. Would either of you have a recommendation for one?
I don't know much about computers. You'd be better off waiting for Warheit to correct the thing I blatantly got wrong here... In any case, I personally use Microsoft Security Essentials. I've been told that it's (one of?) the best free anti-viruses but I'm not the kind to shop around and use multiple different anti-viruses or look into them too deeply. Someone tells me it's the best, I sheeple myself over to it and give it a try. I remember using Avast as well, before MSE came out and really liking the novelty of the boot-time scan feature but... it was just kind of too big and I wanted something simpler. =\ As for other security features, I browse the interrbutts with Firefox and use Ad Blocker Plus. I'd recommend the same I suppose.
Ярополк Пономарёв
Common sense, not being stupid, and not engaging in risky behaviour are the best ways to ensure you never get a virus. Unless you click every link that pops up you shouldn't need to pay for "the best antivirus money can buy" (and even so, I havent seen how Kapersky compares to the free ones like AVG or Avast or MSE). If you feel compelled to pay a stupid tax to use a computer, that's fine too.
MaximumPC writes a magazine and publishes results of all kinds of computer stuff. Kaspersky came out on top this year.
Well since I don't really know of any good free ones. Microsoft Security Essentials if you want fast times and super-basic usage. Requires legit-Windows OS.

Wahrheit
Kapersky, Avast, and AVG are all pretty good and I think free. I use AVG.
